The Kindle edition is good, but of course, the larger pages of the book are helpful. The first drawings are in graphite pencil, then chalk and finally charcoal.It really is a `step-by-step' instruction book. Each demo landscape is accompanied by an explanation of what the artist is doing at each stage, including the grade of pencil used, whether the tip or side is used, the type of stroke used, how to blend with a finger or `stub', etc, so that you really can `draw along' with the demo and produce a work of art.There is a short `intro' about values, linear and aerial perspective (with pics), and you can see how these are used in the demo landscapes.There is also an explanation of how to measure objects in the landscape using a pencil. However, and this is my only negative comment; it doesn't describe clearly how to use the `pencil measurement' to quickly transfer the object to the size of your page! Well-illustrated nd well- written, it has helpful tips for beginners and helpful reminders for the more proficient artist. It's a good "tool" to have in your collection.
