I use all 6 connectors. When not using the Yellow (video) connector, I leave hanging, unused.

Should work yes, you can separate whatever you’re using too from the bundle

Better to ask than guess. Yes, it's one cord with 3 pieces at each end. BTW, works great because our TV is mounted to the wall and it is difficult to reach the connections. With this extension, my son can game without a fuss!
