I don't know how this item even received 2 stars, let alone 4. The product description claims to be melamine, which is a high-quality hard material that mimics ceramic. These plates are actually made of CHEAP plastic like what you would find at a dollar store and the printed images are faded. These plates are worth $4, not $40. This was supposed to be a Christmas gift but it is absolutely not suitable as a gift to anyone. Do not buy these, you will be disappointed.
