Fastest, easiest manual vegetable spiralizer and veggie noodle maker
When my $200+ electric spiralizer died after several years of service, I didn't want to invest in another unit with accessory pieces I would never use. I considered a small electric spiralizer and a manual one. After researching the most recommended, quality spiralizers and reading all of the reviews, I chose the Brieftons 5-blade appliance that would adequately suit my needs. I was a bit hesitant since it was a manual device, and I was concerned it would be hard to use since I would have to manually operate the unit. Based on reputation, quality, and ease of use, I chose the Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer and Veggie Noodle Maker. I did note that the blades were high-quality Japanese 420-Grade Steel. That was a good selling point. I was concerned that the appliance would be hard to handle since it was a manual operation. The delivery was quick and well packaged. I followed the instructions in prepping the unit, which was very easy. In no time at all, I had spiralized several zucchini, and I used the slicing blade to make a cucumber salad. The platform has a very strong suction on the bottom of the unit that adheres to a solid surface and locks into place. I didn't have to use the pusher handle at all. I tried a couple of different blades and chose the one that gave me the thickness I wanted. I was amazed at how easy the zucchini slid across the platform without having to push it forward. The device has a pusher handle that I didn't have to use. I used the flat blade to slice a cucumber for salad. In no time at all, I had a bowl full of thin cucumber slices. I give the performance a five-star AAA rating for ease of use, consistent thickness, and easy cleanup! Plus, its compact size easily fits into my cupboard without taking up too much space. I am very happy with this spiralizer and highly recommend it.

This kitchen gadget made healthy eating so much easier.
I've been using this 5-blade vegetable spiralizer, and it's made adding more veggies to my meals so much easier! I love making zucchini noodles, but it also works great with sweet potatoes, beets, cucumbers, and more. It comes with five interchangeable blades, and the manual clearly explains which one to use for each noodle shape. The blades are sharp and cut through vegetables with very little effort, and the strong suction base keeps everything securely in place while you spiralize. If you're looking for a light weight easy way to make healthy veggie noodles at home, I definitely recommend this!

Good product.
I purchased this device to help make different recipes. The package arrived on time. It has different slicers that work well. They are very sharp. So far I have used the device on apples, zucchini, and a sweet potato. The device worked well on the first two. It did ok on the sweet potato. As I got about half way through, the back piece started slipping. If the spikes were a little longer I think it would not have slipped. The device is very sturdy, solid built. The suction cup works great. The device is easy to clean and store. For the price, you can’t beat it. I recommend this to anyone that is looking for something inexpensive, easy to use, and for the occasional use.

AMAZING
Well, I researched before I leaped. When I saw the Brieftons and read the reviews, I agonized over it for a few days. But then I decided, for the price, that I couldn't really go that wrong. My son is a hobby chef, although I think he'd put most professionals to shame, and he loves to cook for guests. I could NOT see myself trying to spiralize with a little handheld gadget. I wanted a device that would do large quantities fast. I wanted to do onions, cabbage, sweet potatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, melons, pears, apples--you name it. I wanted a device that would do that for me. Well, I FOUND IT! This thing works like you won't believe. I've done zucchini noodles, yellow squash noodles, and loved them as substitute noodles under a homemade spaghetti sauce. Yummy, but a carb free dinner! Well, let me rephrase that. A dinner with the only carb being in the sauce, and that is such a minimal amount of carb grams that it barely counts, compared to a pile of actual pasta. And what I learned is that I enjoy zoodles far more than I do actual pasta. They are so much more flavorful! Just be careful with seasoning. THINK NOODLES OR PASTA. They have little flavor. I want the contrast between a flavorful sauce and a blander noodle base. I made the mistake of over seasoning my veggie noodles only once. I really enjoy them if they are seasoned with only pepper, a very light addition of salt, as in VERY light, and some granulated garlic. In my opinion, lightly seasoned, they are better tasting than actual pasta. On this gadget, the suction cup, one large one, works fabulously. It hasn't lost grip on me a single time. The creators also included a little push handle, to put slight pressure on the vegetable as you process it. Works fabulously. I have had no issues with "pushing" a vegetable through, period. Zoodles, aka zucchini noodles, for a huge crowd are a breeze, and also easy to prepare for one or two people because the cleanup is so fast. The Brieftons washes up easily. I use a toothbrush to get the bits out. Tonight carrots left color, but with a brisk and brief scrub with a toothbrush dedicated to this gadget, the stain washed away instantly. I think avoiding stains could be eliminated by washing it off soon after use. Imagine only running water over it with a little dish detergent. I bought two heads of cabbage, one green, one red. I wanted to make a fabulous coleslaw with a non-creamy dressing. I was amazed! Use the flat blade! This thing will make quick work of a head of cabbage or an onion. I only used half of a green head. I found a recipe for a light coleslaw dressing, no mayo or cream, and our guest said that she loved the fact that the cabbage was sliced so thin! I agreed. Packaged cabbage slaw cannot compare. So how much do those bags of prepared coleslaw cost? I never really looked. But I now know that freshly done cabbage tastes so much better, and I also know that I'm saving money, which means that this kitchen gadget will pay for itself in no time at all. My coleslaw was beyond good. Can you imagine? Buy a head of cabbage. Wash it off. Pick away any discolored parts. Slap it in, using a flat blade, and before you know it, as in seconds, you have grated cabbage, cut thin for enhanced flavor. Do two carrots, and toss in some diced dried cherries, and make a fabulous no-cream dressing, and you have a culinary delight. I'm so sold on this product! No, I didn't get it free. I am not writing a review because I will be rewarded. The reward, for me, is the product itself, and the savings I will see. Want to make coleslaw? Well, shred your cabbage quickly by yourself. Don't buy that stale stuff, already shredded. The taste difference, to me, is amazing. And the savings is also amazing. Don't buy premade Zoodles, all nicely packaged. Buy a couple of zucchini and make your own so fast that you'll wonder, "What was I thinking?" I would recommend this to a friend. I WILL recommend this to a friend.

The kitchen toy that helps the marriage life : )
At the beginning it was a challenge to learn a new style of preparing salads and some side dishes. There is a learning curve and I spent some time reading reviews for different models and watching YouTube video. After I unpacked this beautifully designed "toy" for the kitchen, I tried to use it without any success. My first mistake was - I tried to attach the spiralizer to the kitchen table. When later I tried to attach it to the formica countertop at my house and then to the granite countertop at my daughter's house it was easily done in a second. My second mistake was to use wrong blades for the vegetables. I wrote to the customer service several times and each time received prompt answer. The best educational answer was the following: THE GENERAL RULES OF THUMB ARE: - softer vegetables can use any blade; - for harder vegetables we recommend the use of a bigger blade (5mm or 5.5 mm blade). This is because a smaller blade will have more blade teeth which may cause more resistance when used with a harder vegetable; - vegetables with layers or hollow inside (onions, cabbages, bell peppers) should use the FLAT blade. My favorite blades are FLAT (for cucumber, red radish, onion, cabbage) and 3 mm (for red radish, the steam of the broccoli, and zucchini). Now I can make a large salad in less then 15 minutes. The slices of a radish and cucumber (FLAT blade) are paper thin and looks beautiful. The leftover part I put on separate small plate; it looks like a small mushrooms and we eat it as is. The best part is that now I do not need to cry when I cut onions (my husband and I like very simple dish - onion and white mushrooms over potato). After slicing an onion with a FLAT blade, I take my scissors and quickly cut the thin beautiful spirals in a smaller pieces. In less than two minutes the "onion" work is completed and I had fun as well. Now I am smiling, not crying and it definitely helps our marriage life : ). I want to address the problem with labeling the blades. I used the Brother P-Touch Label Maker and made beautiful labels for each blade. I attached them on the top part of the blade, so I can easily see them either installed on the spiralizer, in the storage compartment, or in the caddy. My advise if you do not have P-Touch and decide to buy, then buy PT-D210 model. The label has backing that very easy to remove; I bought first another model and returned it - it was impossible to remove the backing from the label. I hope that the future model will have the bright labels. Also, I attached a label to the front of the caddy, because the blade can go in only one way. You can use the blue tape that covers the blade and the caddy still will looks nice. I like that the Spiralizer comes with blades that can be easily removed and put back. This allows me to clean everything is seconds. From my experience so far I can confirm that this particular Spiralizer does exactly as it was pictured, works great, very easy to clean, very easy to put apart and then put back together. Each part and the Spiralizer as a whole was design with love and compassion. Now I even travel with this kitchen toy if I know that I will have a place to prepare a salad. It makes my life easier and saves my valuable time.

Makes My Sweet Pepper Confit Easy to Make!
Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer: Strongest-and-Heaviest Duty Vegetable Spiral Slicer, Best Veggie Pasta Spaghetti Maker for Low Carb/Paleo/Gluten-Free Meals, With Extra Storage Caddy & 3 Recipe eBooks I was an early adopter of spiraling back in the days when noodles had to be made with a julienne peeler. I got one of the first handheld ones but was frustrated when cutting anything harder than zucchini. I finally donated mine to charity. Too frustrating! I wanted something better. What sold me on this was a video uploaded to Amazon by a customer. It’s full of clever tricks, including spiralizing a green pepper. A favorite recipe of mine is Sweet Pepper Confit. Each pepper has to be cut in 1/4” strips and I’m not a fast cutter. The customer’s video shows how a skewer is used to keep the pepper straight while using the spiralizer. That’s all I needed to see. I read the instructions and viewed the company’s video. I was ready with six huge peppers when it arrived. I first tried the suction on a wooden cutting board. Don’t try that. It works wonderfully on Formica, Corian, marble. I used a plastic cutting sheet rather than a pan. I held the pepper with a small chopstick. My first pepper came off in long strips, as per the instructions. I cut it into smaller strips. Then I got inspired and cut down one long side of the pepper about 1” from the stem end to the tip. Yes! I learned to stop cutting about 1” from the stem end, where most of the seeds are. As a result I didn’t have many seeds in the cut pepper. I don’t mind eating them. I timed my last three peppers — six minutes total! The confit takes about 30 minutes to cook. That was more than enough time to cut the 1” stem ends to save for stir fries, snacks, etc. No wasted food! Cleanup was fast and easy. I have no doubt this product will do a good job on zucchini, cucumbers, potatoes, etc. Do watch the videos and read the online instructions. Get a few spiralizer cookbooks. I paid full price and was not paid for this review. I’m a happy camper and the confit is wonderful!

Sooo easy to use and Clean!
I have put off buying Spiralizer because I thought they would be a pain to use and clean. I even bought an electric one at a brick and mortar store, got it home read the instructions and thought- NOPE too much work for a simple meal- I took that baby back immediately. That still did not stop me from wanting one though. I didn't want to invest a lot of money in something I might only use a couple of times get frustrated and toss it in the back of the pantry where all bad kitchen gadgets go to die. The Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer came up one day as a 'Today's Deal' item and I was intrigued.. I read the description and it sounded like something I could do..non-electric, heavy-duty, easy to use, easy to clean and best of all it was a great price I was willing to pay. I put off using it at first because I was intimidated by all the slicing blade attachments. I finally (and I highly recommend this) pulled out and read the WELL written step by step color instructions. There was also a video link for people who hate reading instructions. That alone was so impressive and it made me so eager to immediately go out and buy vegetables and start spiralizing! Once engaged, the suction cup that holds it to the counter is so strong, no slippage while turning the handle. The instructions illustrate the different cuts and sizes so you know which blade type to use. Once I got started it was actually fun and I got a little crazy spiralizing everything just to test the different cuts on various veggies (carrots, zucchinis, onions, cukes). The real test came with the clean up because that is what will determine if you'll use the thing. There is nothing worse than using something for 2 minutes only to spend 20 minutes cleaning it. The instructions recommend hand-washing or top rack of dishwasher because the heat could warp the suction cup on the base- I think it's best to put the blade racks in the dishwasher and just hand-wash the base, it's no big deal and it only takes a few seconds. Bottom line, it works great and I'm so happy I took a chance with it. I've used it three times so far and it work fantastically each time and I didn't dread cleaning it. Pros: little or no assembly- easy to clean- easy instructions, well made/sturdy, fun to use. Cons: difficult to find something that will fit to catch spiralized food. Dark foods like carrots or beets may stain, additional cleaning or prep would apply.

Complicated equipment but works ok...
I got this for my mom for xmas. I admit, I just picked the cheapest spiralizer with the highest rating at the time because I was overwhelmed by all the choices and prices. I figured my mom could just try one out before deciding whether she was fine with it or wanted to invest in a nicer one (she's never used one so I wasn't sure if it would be something she would use much). There's pictures of various veggies being spiraled on the box to give you ideas of what to use it for so I think this spiralizer is perfect for a beginner, but maybe not such a good idea for someone who doesn't like the idea of having yet another kitchen device cluttering the cabinets with a ton of parts that they only use sparingly. Although to be honest, I thought that would be a problem with my mom (she hates clutter) and SHE ended up loving this. While she ended up liking it a lot, she had a lot trouble setting it up. There are multiple blades and some of these blades slide into plastic compartments and containers for storage. The blades that slide into the slotted containers gave us both a lot of trouble. After she slid them out the first time we both found it REALLY hard to get them back in. It took us like 20 minutes just to get these 2 blades back into their storage containers because they only slide into the container in a certain way (why?!). The container ended up all scratched up and I was worried she was going to break the blades trying to jam it in there. I still couldn't tell you how she ended up sliding them back in (we both tried it every which way until she turned one of them around--probably the 7th time she'd done that--and it randomly slid in). Also FYI the zucchini you use in this thing can't be small! This didn't seem to bother my mom but it bothered me because it obviously limits the size and type of veggies you can use in it (plus, the small zucchini are always the tastiest). You are not going to be spiraling carrots in this thing, that's for sure. I don't know if that's a typical issue with all spiralizers but it seems worth mentioning. I have to admit it DID make really nice zoodles with considerably less waste while being way less of a pain to use compared to the simple Y peeler that I've always used to make zoodles. The only part that's leftover when you're done is a long skinny tube from the center of the zucchini. You can make different types of zoodles depending on the blades you use (she made a curly kind of med thickness and it turned out really good in a pasta dish she made with them). She was pretty excited and talking about her plans to make a bunch and freeze them to use later, so that's pretty cool.

Easy to use. Efficient. Easy to clean
This Spiralizer is amazing! I was hesitant about buying it after reading that some users find it doesn't stick to their worktop but I have had no such problems. It's suction is very strong. It is easy to use. Easy to clean and can be stored away in its box ready for next use. I love the fact 2 blades can be stored safely in the unit itself & the other 2 in the plastic drawer provided. A great safety factor. My food prep time has been cut in half using the unit. As an older person I have weak wrists and fingers but it's so easy to Spiralize using this unit which is very strong and looks like it will last. Coleslaw is made at lightning speed. Beautiful salads of cucumber with baby tomatoes and feta cheese. Carrots in a Dijon vinaigrette. Butternut squash noodles make amazing "nests". Toss lightly in olive oil. Put in a 4 hole Yorkshire pudding tin. Lift out and turn over after 10 mins. Leave a further ten mins then drizzle red pesto over and grate on Parmesan cheese. Yummy! Brieftons salad recipe book provides a great choice of recipes but I purchased "The Big 10 Paleo Spiralizer cookbook from Amazon ( Megan Flynn Peterson) which gives a great variety of recipes for a whole range of vegetables. I also love the fact that Brieftons provide you tube videos on how to use and get the best out of this product. All in all I feel the little extra expense was well worth it, especially as I see Brieftons provide spare parts that can be easily purchased at very reasonable cost. As a now avid Spiralizer I may well need another set of blades quite soon. S thank you Brieftons. I can thoroughly commend this product. Wish I'd bought one sooner!
