Dax Short & Neat Light Hair Dress 3.5oz

I had shortish medium length hair when I used this and got a perfect pompadour every single time. Ignore what the can says, this is a high shine product due to the mineral oil. It's roughly comparable to the shine on Royal Crown, maybe even a bit higher shine. It's a light hold or MAYBE light medium, but not a full medium. This is easily one of my favorite products, right next to Royal Crown Hair Dressing.

I shop it on Amazon because the stores that used to stock it don't and it's a lighter hair dressing thanothe brands including Dax ones.

The reason I give this such a high rating is simple. I can apply, brush, and go. I'm an African American male and the product provides many benefits to my hair type. It contains Coconut, Mineral and Castor Oil; which overall, locks moisture into the hair and scalp, gives it a healthy shine, and it can be used for a light hold.If you are looking to get waves, it may not be the item for you. You might want to continue to search online, yet if you want something to moisturize and hold your short cut. While also maintaining the natural look for your hair. Go ahead and order because it gets no better than this!!!Note: If you are one of the many folks who take showers in the morning, you may want to consider applying the Dax last. If you take a shower and apply the Dax while your hair is wet, you will have a tendency to brush it immediately. Brushing after a shower will stunt the growth of your hair over a period of time. So brush after the scalp is dry.

I received my first tin of "Short and Neat" as a gift from my wife. My first impression of it was "ew...this stuff looks like Vaseline." I was hesitant to put it in my hair. But it surprised me after I used it. My hair tends to get fuzzy when it's short. I like to put something on it to calm it down and make it look neat. Short and Neat does that and adds a little shine to my normally dull hair. It lasts all day. My only complaint is that you have to be careful where you rest your head--you will leave oily stains behind! I've since made sure that I use very little on the back of my head as I've left remnants of the stuff on my car headrest and other places. The price makes this inconvenience worthwhile.

I really like this stuff and might upgrade it to 5 stars after a week or so if it warrants. It smells good, but doesn't interfere with any aftershave I choose to wear and re-combs very well, even the next day. I'll update after a few days and after I wash it out, or try to.Well after two days of wear and one wash-out, I upgraded this to 5 stars. To wash this out along with any other petroleum based pomade, I massage hair conditioner in my hair and let it in for about 10 minutes before shampooing, and it comes out pretty well after just one lathering. This has great hold for my short hair and is very shiny which is why I bought it.

I bought this while vacationing in FLA! I ran out and couldn’t find it in any stores! Looked it up on Amazon and ordered two cans! Free shipping! Great for short hair! Last long and applies easily!

This and Murray's hair glo are my two favorite commercially available light pomades. Both provide a surprising amount of hold for their consistency. I rock a decent short pomp in the winter with either alone. I've noticed this one probably holds a little better- it's probably the liquid parrafin. It's sure got plenty more ingredients.. The look is a little dryer than other light pomades- Wet but not oily (I go for oily so i favor more traditional grease when I'm dressed up- this is maybe a better pomade for a casual look) . Very sweet, strong smelling, with a hint of spice. Good stuff.

I bought this because I have very fine hair that is flyaway. I've been looking for a product that would lightly slick down my hair to prevent it. Unfortunately for me, I didn't realize that this product is very difficult to wash out. Even after I stopped using it, the product was STILL in my hair for days. If you have fine hair, avoid this product, unless you're okay with your hair always feeling tacky and not washing out, even after two shampoos.
