There are three main differences between this hat and the cheaper 3-5 dollars ones: stiching quality, shape, and adjustable size. The front emblem is firmly attached, wheras with the cheaper hats it's sort of loosly stitched and dangles at the edges. Also, the front of this hat has a foam insert so it keeps it's shape very well. The snap-back is also handy for finding the perfect fit.I'm not sure how anyone could say this hat didn't fit their head.. I'm a male and typically wear XL hats, helmets, etc. I adjusted this hat to a comfortable fit, and still had the option of going three notches looser.The only thing I didn't like about this hat were the few odd creases that formed in the front from being squished down during shipping. These were minimal however, and didn't really detract from the overall look.Overall, a very good buy if you want something a little nicer and more sturdy than the bottom of the barrel hats.

The Jacobson Yacht Cap is modestly priced for a hat with modest quality. The hat is closer to costume quality than everyday cap quality. The materials are far from high quality and it looks pretty cheap: the cap material is very thin, has a very thin sweat band, and the pleather bill is probably the most strikingly unappealing part of the cap. It likely wouldn't stand up to longtime use, it's not terribly comfortable, and it's certainly not going to help in rainy weather. If you're looking for something to go with a costume or something to wear for fun while you're boating or whatever, I actually think this hat is a very good choice. However, if you're looking for a good quality yacht cap to wear with any regularity and that looks good, you'll have to look somewhere other than Amazon, just as I had to.tl;dr: This is a great yacht cap for costumes or just to have fun with for certain occasions, but the cap suffers from being obvious low quality. If you want a good-looking, high quality yacht cap, look somewhere other than Amazon.

I bought this hat for Halloween initially, and my friend, who is a Somali pirate captain, saw the hat and really wanted it. I sold it to him for a clock he stole off one of those oil tankers. It was a pretty good deal, and I had fun with this hat. It looked pretty real, and I couldn't help feel like a captain myself. The Somali pirate captain wears the hat on all of his raids, and he's been pretty successful in avoiding the US Navy since I gave him the hat. He thinks it's cuz the hat is given to him by an American, and Americans can't find things made in America because there's such few things that are made in America nowadays. This hat was actually made in China or something, and I hope he doesn't gamble too much on the hat's ability to keep him safe from the US Navy.

Got this for a nautical party I had and I loved this hat. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because the band in the back broke on the 1st day. A little bit my fault b/c I was holding it while riding my bike and squeezed it against the handlebars. The plastic black band in the back slipped out of the fabric. It was easy to fix, I just stapled it twice with a regular office stapler and colored the staple with a black marker. You could barely tell. The hat looks great. It is big and shiny. Got lots of laughs. Fun being the captain! lol I recommend this hat for costumes and parties.

I purchased these hats for a yacht party and they were a hit. Great quality for the money.. I'll be able to reuse them for multiple costumes for years to come.

We bought this hat for an Among Us themed birthday party. It fit a wide variety of people well. Very cute and nice looking. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Bought this hat as a gag gift for our boat and to be honest it turned out better than expected. Some of the reviews point to it being on the cheaper side but it was exactly as I had expected it. Works great to store on the boat and wear while driving. I could also see this working well for a costume.The great thing about the hat is the adjustable backing which fits to any size head. I have a 7 & 3/8's fitted hat size and this was able to fit quite well. The only downside I see is that the bill of this hat could get messed up if its crunched or someone sits on the hat by accident. At this price, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Bad quality and while the size is ajustable the make of the hat is terrible. It doesn’t sit right and the stitching makes the hat crooked and the peak so low and pointed downwards you can’t see if the hat is positioned comfortable. Would highly NOT recommend
