Works well for price
Well the first fire inset I received had the remote control missing and to be honest it looked like it had been used and sent back, so contact customer support, and they were brilliant sorted it out with no fuss whatsoever. Replacement sent and to be honest I’m pretty impressed with it, it looks good and works great, warms my living room well, and does everything it’s designed to do, for a average price fire inset.

Absolutely Perfect!
Please don't be confused by my video and thinking this Zanussi fire is not the one displayed...it is! Firstly, I ordered 2 different Electric Fires previously and had to return as they both did not inset fully into the fireplace recess, contrary to the specifications given. I was losing hope, then saw this Zanussi fire which when reading the dimensions, I thought it would better suit the space. I took a chance and ordered it from the Amazon Warehouse which was described as "Used:Like New" with the details that the fire was unused but the box would be damaged. Given the condition of the boxes the 2 previous fires arrived in, and it was £30 cheaper than "Brand New", I ordered it, and so glad I did! The Warehouse had a promotion of a further 10% discount, and so I purchased this fire for £82...a bargain! The fire itself was in perfect condition but it did not fit fully in the fireplace recess. I posted a Customer Question and was delighted to receive a reply from another buyer of this same fire, and was told you can buy a spacer to cover the small gap between the fire itself and the recess space. Now knowing what a spacer was, I decided to take the spacer off my old fire and try it on this new Zanussi fire, and it fitted perfectly! In time, I may buy the spacer made for this fire, but in the meantime I'm happy to use this old one. The fire itself is brilliant! The 2 fan settings are great and heat the room sufficiently and in no time at all, even on the lower setting. All fans create noise when switched on, but even at the higher setting, this fire in no way interferes with watching the TV or having a conversation. The flame effect is far superior than my old Dimplex Fire and is great as it now gives my room a softer warm ambiance. I now regret not changing it much sooner. Given my old Dimplex Fire was £350 29yrs ago, I can't complain and I definitely got a lot of use from it. I 100% recommend this fire, providing it suits your space and pocket. Though at £82, you can't really go wrong. This is one of my best purchases and I absolutely love it!

Not sure yet
It looks nice and smart and slick. From that pov, definitely worth the money. I am not yet convinced this is actually a good product though. The thermostat is playing up, saying I have 24 degrees in the room, but my old thermostat is saying 19 - i have one thermostat per room, so I can double check and they all say 19, but the fireplace says 24.It took me a bit to figure out how to set up programmes, got there in the end, but customer service was completely useless in assisting. She was very bored and annoyed on the phone. Got it done by myself, once you get the hang of it, it is quite easy to do.Another thing that I highly dislike is the fact that it lives on standby and there is no option of turning the led display off, only dim it down. So I basically have a 'fire' on from 7am until I decide to either turn it off completely or put it on timer. It's a bit weird and it obviously wastes energy. Also, the timer is tricky and again, prone to waste energy. I set the temp for 22 degrees and for it to run for 40min at 7am, after the heating has been off all night. It will start at 16, 17 degrees, then it should stop at whatever happens first: temp achieved of time finished. In my case, it runs for exactly 10minutes when it alegedly reaches 22 degrees, even though at the point of start it's 17 for example. For the rest of 30 minutes, it just stays on with no heat whatsoever. Also, if you turn on timer in the evening, ready for the morning, you need to make sure you also press IC, otherwise it will again, turn on and live in standby, but no actual heating comes on.Considering I bought it on sale and not full price, I will not be returning, but I don't think I would recommend to others to be honest. This is meant to be a new product, it does look and feel new, but my 16 year old fireplace heater does a much better job.

Nice looking fire
Plenty of decorating stones given and a 2 year guarantee once registered with Zanussi. Deducted one star as you have to keep setting the time display every time you switch the power switch off on the fire. Gives out plenty of heat and quiet compared to a normal fan heater.

Great drop in replacement for old gas insert
I have had this a year now. And I love it. Replaced a gas insert fire that I never used because I have pets. I also have Solar. This heats up my living area so quickly even on the min 1kw setting. I like smart home convenience, so one thing I've done is actually paired this with a switchbot hub to make it smart. Highly recommend. I have it set up to be able to switch on or off from my phone. So if I have extra solar while I'm working I can set it on. I also have routines set that overnight during cheap electricity hours, if the indoor temp drops it turns on automatically at cheap rates. Helps reduce my heating costs. For the price, one of the best options I've come across.
