Excellent crime novel
I decided to get this book since I wanted to read something set in Pune and I enjoy crime thrillers. The story is very well done with layered characters, a complex plot that moves along quickly but still takes time to give detailed explanations around the forensic analysis and thought process of the investigators. Despite the subject matter it is just graphic enough with the descriptions and it kept me interested until the end. Also, I have read some reviews complaining that they could not keep the characters and places straight because they had names from a non-English speaking country - I think these are ridiculous statements coming from small minds who should probably only stick to stories that have names such as John, Bob and Jane. I did notice a few slight mistakes with editing but nothing that was distracting from the story. I am happy to have discovered this series and look forward to reading the rest.

gripping
A killer is on what we call death row when there is a murder with obvious similarities. Soya Rajput is called in to provide input as the person who caught the killer. This book had my attention throughout. It is a psychological description of the mind of a killer as well as the mind of an investigator. It is also a very good procedural. A non-Indian reader will need to pay careful attention to names, as it is easy to confuse several characters with similar names. Also, be mindful of the time frames in the early parts of the story. There is some looking into the past without warning. There are a few errors that were not caught in editing, but they aren’t distracting in frequency.

Great premise & story, but it is a chore to read.
The plots were intriguing with twists and turns unexpected. The characters basically cardboard cut outs. The meaningless details unending & did not add to the story or plot lines. The translation to English was terrible, even humorous. I plodded through this story because the premise is captivating, but I resented it's unnecessary length and unsatisfactory reward.

Loved it!
I really enjoyed this book. It was clever and had a twist at the end. I felt like I got to know the characters, even the sinister ones!

Good read
Author is organized and intelligent. This story had me intrigued and interested until the surprise ending. I also liked that the author intertwined snippets of culture, dress, words etc of India.

Excellent
This is simply an excellent book. I've read it in just two days cus I couldn't dedicate more time to my reading. Once you start you won't stop turning page after page to find out who is the killer. The fact that it is passed in India is refreshing, different and interesting. The narrative is dynamic, well written, researched and clever. The main characters are so real that you can easily have them as real people. I do not like when instead of reviewing the book the person re-writtes it, specially with thrillers, so, I am not going to do that. Please, do yourself a favor and read this book. All and all, it's excellent and I fully recommend.

An Edge of the Seat Thriller
Although this has gory details, it is a fascinating story of how advanced science can track down murderers. The characters are believable and interesting.

Suspense and interesting settings.
Never knew who the suspect would be but had several leads and ideas up until the near end. Open questions still linger.

Deeply Disturbing
Those who ‘enjoy’ something like ‘Silence of the Lambs’ may well appreciate ‘Where Are They Now’ which has its killer similar to prisoner Lecter and its investigator similar to FBI agent Clarice. ‘Silence of the Lambs’ may be regarded as entertainingly frightening, but ‘Where Are They Now’ is more deeply disturbing and malevolent. Its story is repulsive. It deserves only a single star-rating – unless readers see merit in poorly written narrative with necrophilia as part of a bizarre plot.

Not bad
I nearly gave up on this story. It's set in India and most of the names seem to start with the same letter, which can be very confusing for some readers. However I decided to stick with it and I'm glad that I did. Yes there are some very graphic descriptions but the overall plot is good. I'm not sure if I'll read any more in the series but this effort was ok.

Good story
I enjoyed the storyline and characters although it was strange to follow writings from a different culture. I think reading more from this author would hall the reader get into the mind set of the book. Nevertheless a good read.

Dreadful
This book of sleaze holds no storyline. Just massive killings = all Indian names which are very confusing to the English reader. OK I know it's in India but I did not like this book, creepy = slimy,
