Ames Is The Best Shovel Brand
Ames is the most reliable manufacturer of farm quality shovels. I have had a previous Ames shovel exactly like this one for over 10 years, and finally it developed a crack in the plastic shovel, and I continued using it to clean out horse stalls for several months before it finally broke all the way through, and I had to go in search for another one. I am so pleased with Ames shovels because they are well made, and demonstrate that they are made of quality materials, as they don't bend and break like other less superior products. If you want a shovel that will last a long time, look to Ames

Beast
This is over kill for my use. I got it for snow and mulch. It’s like “Tim the Tool Man” made a snow shovel. I’m sure it’s fine for its purpose but it’s great for mine.

Solid shovel (after I replaced a screw)
One of the screws attaching the shovel to the handle was stripped when I got it. I replaced the screw with a slightly thicker and longer screw and the handle is solid. Other than needing to repair it before I used it, it works great.
