Solid product
This Lilly pipe is excellent quality. It has a bit of weight, glass isn't thin, which makes handling easy. I don't feel like it's going to break when I handle it. Skimmer is very nice and the pipette that comes with it, nice touch.. with instructions for people that don't know how to set the skimmer.

Works well with attention
I got this because after moving to a new city with different water, there was a lot of film on the surface of the aquarium. Some difference in water chemistry I guess. Before using this I had the intake just above the gravel with a prefilter but that wasn’t helping with the surface film. The new intake thingy works well! It does a good job pulling surface film into the filter, and the water has stayed clear. But it needs some adjustment depending on water level and whether you’re feeding the fish. That is easy to do except adjusting the suction (surface or bottom) requires getting your hand wet. Really the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the top and bottom parts are plastic, not glass, and I think they’ll degrade eventually. All glass would be better. It will also be difficult to clean. But on the whole it’s good for the price, and does what it’s supposed to do.

works great for me
got this for teh skimmer feature for my aqauruim - my downsides is my tamy dimisions is smaller that what this product is truly designed for my tank is a 6 gallon petco cube tank, so its barely deep enough for this inflow pipe then my canistor set up does not have enough suction power to keep the skimmer flowing properly between the lack of depth and the power of my canistor filter i'm checking and adjustinng this pipe daily - i'm sure if i using a 14 gallon petco cube or a standard tank or bigger and a stronger canister like the fluval 107 or stronger this item would work like a champ and i have no issues

It isn't perfect, but it's nice!
Works great, looks nice. Yes, the skimmer part is acrylic, but you can't tell that by looking at the tank, and I'm not sure how well it would work if it weren't. Using it as intended -adjusting the size of the bubble under the skimmer to achieve the correct buoyancy- is impractical. It can be rather tricky to get it just right to start with, if a bubble comes up from an air stone or whatever it can mess that up, and then you have to do it all over again if you want to disable the skimmer while you're feeding. I solved this by putting one of the little clear plastic rubber bands my daughters use for their hair around the skimmer tube. It holds the skimmer in place wherever I put it. Other than that, debris tends to collect and clog where the outflow pipe connects to the vertical pipe. I would think if the outflow connected with more of a funnel shape instead of a right angle that would be less of a problem. Do you hear me, JARDLI?

Maybe to Good?
It does the job of a skimmer, but maybe to good.If you do not have a flow adjuster on the canister youre running youre going to need it. Suction is way strong and the gap for the skimmer is big enough to suck in fish and shrimp (1 clown killi and 2 shrimp, all 3 were alive and well in my canister when i opened it up)Suggest if youre going to use it with nano fish you can put a replacement sponge filter on the inside of the skimmer and it will stop the fish and other critters from being sucked in.
