Very cool item! I know that to save cut avocados they need to be airtight. I made the mistake the first time cutting off the tip, which I usually do just to get rid of the stem spot. Now I just cut it on half and it fits like a glove. And two sizes are great.

Great option to keep half avocados fresh.

Cute design, well made but doesn’t quite fit the avos I have. Need a size in between the two. Keeping since it’s too much work to return.

It has to be a really tight fit in order for it to marginally work. It is hard to put on and it is messy at times so don't do it as you prep to go to work in the morning. I meal prep the night before but I like fresh avocado's. I have used it 4 times, it has worked twice and only on avocados that fit well.

I REALLY wanted to love these. . . Sadly, they now just take up space in my silverware drawer or occasionally get used as a baby toy. When I saw these for the first time, I thought it was a brilliant idea! My now 1 year old LOOOOOVES avocado and eats them everyday, so I knew I had to have them. (By the way, these are cheaper on Uncommon Goods) I paid about $11 for this 2 piece set here on Amazon, which I think is too expensive. But I got them anyway because I was sure they would get used everyday and keep my daughters precious avocados fresh. Again, this a great idea. . . However unless the avocado is the exact size and shape of the food hugger, it just doesn't work. If it doesn't fit correctly, the avocado is brown by the time you get back to it. The smaller size can work, IF you have an avocado that is the right size and shape. Still not as good as I had hoped. And the large one has never been used. Not even once. It is enormous. I live in San Diego, and I have yet to find an avocado that large. And I have avocados in the house at all times. . . So, in my opinion, they should do away with the large size and sell 2 regular sizes in the set. . . Also lower the price by several dollars. . .And even then, they wouldn't get used all the time. These definitely need some work. I'm bummed they didn't work for me.

I purchased this because I make keto meal replacement shakes, and the recipe only requires half of an avocado. Not to mention I eat a lot of avocado halves as sides, but I usually end up having to toss the uneaten half. Anyone who knows avocados knows the moment you cut an avocado, it seems like you've got minutes to get it eaten before it goes bad. Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but you avocado lovers know what I mean. The only thing I can think of that goes bad nearly as quickly as avocados are bananas, so at best I was hoping to maybe buy my avocado half about 24 hours in the refrigerator, and even then I still expected to have the taste already be a bit off. I must say, I've been pleasantly surprised that I peel this thing off the avocado half the next day, and it's still perfectly tasty. HOWEVER, the last time I used this thing was about five days ago, and I forgot that I had it in the refrigerator with half an avocado in it. Oh no! I just knew I was going to find a gross rotting avocado half that I'd have to throw out, so I decided document just how rottedit would be after five days. WOW! Just look at that picture. That's after being in my refrigerator for five solid days. Now, I will admit this wasn't a perfectly soft ripe avocado when I put it in there. It was most certainly ripe enough to eat sliced up, or just spooned right out of the skin, but just not soft enough that you'd be mashing it up for guacamole. Had it been guacamole soft, I doubt it would look quite this good, but no doubt it would have still lasted a couple of days in the fridge. But WOW! To get five whole days out of a half an avocado and it still be perfectly tasty... that's pretty amazing. Plus it's made of silicone, so it's very easy to clean, and dishwasher safe, if you happen swing that way. The ONLY downside to this little wonder is it can be a tad tricky to get seated properly on to an avocado half; especially if the avocado is fully ripe and soft. However, with a bit of practice it does gets easier once you get your technique down. I'd highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys avocados on the regular.

This avocado hugger comes in two sizes - small and large. Unfortunately the last 3 avocados I bought are the same size - too large for the small cover and way too small for the large. I ended up squeezing half an avocado into the small one. It was difficult, and a little messy. Bottom line is: I don't see the point in these huggers. I'm trying to get away from using plastic on my food, and these silicon covers sounded perfect, however the fit is off. They should probably make an additional size, in between the small and the large. Additionally, these are not returnable, so I can't really recommend purchasing them. Update: When I went to use the other half of the avocado the next morning, the hugger had slidden off, so what's the point?! I checked back with the description, and they are returnable, so I ended up sending them back. Waste of tine and money.
