I have to admit that I wasn’t aware that the scorpion was a puzzle. I bought it seeing the coolest scorpion I’d ever seen. I bought it for my 33 year old daughters birthday. I should have read more in-depth about what I was purchasing. When this gift arrived , it was in a 5-1/2 , about 1” box . I realized it was a Puzzle. At 1st, I freaked out because there were hundreds of little mints, bolts and screw and many directions. But I bought the scorpion to give to my daughter and not a puzzle , so I began to put the puzzle together. It was very fun and all the supplies from screw driver down to even a few extra pieces were included. The directions were so easy to decipher. I did take about 8 hours to complete but it was so fun and cool that I am looking to purchase more items from this company to build other things. The scorpion was fun to put together , and my daughter was blown away at how amazing this scorpion finished piece was. Whether a gift of put together item or a gift as a puzzle. It’s well worth the money , time and face of the gift participant.

The scorpion is a terrific gift for a tinkerer or model builder. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and it was a lot of fun to build. But all the many nuts and bolts are tiny. Very tiny. A well lit building location is recommended, and for some, a magnifying glass might be recommended. Because of the very tiny nuts, bolts and washers, some manual dexterity is required (or a great deal of patience as you retrieve dropped bits...).

The model comes in a black and compact little box with all the tools, pieces and screws to assemble. I didn't time it would take me so much time to assemble but sadly the manual is not very good. When assembling the tail I found out one step was missing from the manual and if you are going step by step, you may end up taking apart part of the tail by the time you realize. Additionally after completing the model, the screws do loosen up a little and you must tighten the screws several times and the model is somewhat expensive and I regretted getting after finding out other vendor has this for $20 less. Other than that, I had fun assembling it and it looks great on my desk.

Take your time, study the instructions and you should get good results. It is challenging, but very doable. First thing first, this product is packaged very nicely. Everything is easily identified and all the parts are there. There were some extra screws and nuts which is a thoughtful touch. They are small and easy to lose! At first the legs were real challenging. But by the time you get to the 8th leg it almost seems easy. If you think the legs are a challenge, wait until you get to the tail. You'll wish you had 4 tiny hands to put it together. I didn't try to put it all together in one session. I spread it out over 3 days in all. Not sure the total hours but it was not an unreasonable amount of time.

Directions are clear and it is very fun to assemble. The pieces are very small so it takes some time to put together, but for model builders it is a blast! The pieces are also quality metal so it is sturdy once assembled and poseable
