Q: Do I need a grate to put them on or can I just set them on the gas pipe?

We used these in an outdoor gas fire pit. They look great and perform well. Looking to add them to current logs in our indoor fireplace. But we put some lava rock and colored stone between these logs and the gas pipe. The different cooling temps of these ceramic logs and gas pipe may cause them to crack.

Q: Do the birch colored logs stay white or do they turn dark?

Mine have turned dark where yellow flame touches them but there's quite a bit of light color left - it seems to make them look more natural with some scorch marks. If you have a lot of flame then they'll probably get darker.

Q: Do you have the gas burner systems?

Yes I have a gas burner fireplace and used these logs inside of it.

Q: Can these be used with a superior bbv 42-ren fireplace?

As far as I know they work on any gas fireplace.
