Don't work on plastic troughs
These will NOT fit on the plastic (rubbermaid, etc.) water troughs. Unless you are using the metal troughs, don't waste your money, unless you want to make some serious design changes. These are supposed to make life easier, they do not.

Wish there were better mounting brackets
I can't tell you about the Hudson float. I purchased two in the last couple of weeks for Rubbermaid stock tanks. The brackets are poorly made to be fitted properly and not built tough enough. Two floats, four brackets in two weeks. These brackets need to be redesigned.
