So I wanted to wait until I had a full cycle to write a review but unfortunately I need to write it now. The comfort and fit are wonderful. I’m un-phased by the bloating in them nor do they ride up. The only flaw in the design is the seams in the crotch area. That’s where it leaks. Im only on day one of my period and less than two hrs in. I’m so sad. I had high hopes. I gave it three stars for comfort and maybe paired with a cup, tampon, or pad these would be great. I am looking a product that eliminates all of those.Update: Oct 13I found a used pair with stains in them. I won’t be returning them in fear that they will send my used ones to some other poor unfortunate soul.

I have a very VERY heavy period. It has put me in all kids of embarrassing situations. On heavy days, there is no way I can make it an hour without changing the heaviest tampon. I have bled through the DIVA cup on more than one occasion (it lasts a little longer, at roughly the hour mark).I have two main problems this product helps me with- teaching fitness classes (it’s my nightmare to teach a class and bleed through, can you imagine the grossest squats ever? And everyone is staring right at your butt for an hour!). I have previously bled through during classes but not while teaching. So I am very paranoid. It does show an underwear line in my workout clothes, but there is no way I can ever wear a pad! These underwear are my last line of defense when the diva cup fails to contain everything. So far, so good.The other problem I have is bleeding during the night. I will wake up because I feel the very initial leak beginning to happen, and I get up to use the bathroom and it’s a flood as soon as I stand. I still wear the heaviest tampon at night. I can’t tell you how much I hate wearing a pad. But if I don’t, blood gets on my bed, down my legs, on the carpet. It’s so much work to clean up in the middle of the night. Again, these underwear contained it. It did feel wet on the edges when I got to the bathroom (it has a binding in a different fabric) so I could see how some people had trouble with leaks if they thought they shouldn’t have to change them. I went through three last night. No mess to clean up in my room or bathroom. I don’t believe I could have gone the whole night with one pair, but I also don’t have the desire to lay back down in bloody underwear. This is so much more comfortable than wearing a giant pad. I sleep better.As far as fit goes, I am a small or extra small typically. I bought the small. It isn’t uncomfortable or too tight, but usually a small is a little roomier. They don’t have a lot of stretch, but they do have some. The waist has plenty of stretch, but the holes for your legs don’t have as much. They are lined all the way up the back which is also nice, one of the times last night, I didn’t wake up right away and bled higher up the back. Everything was contained. I am so impressed. For me, this product is a huge win. It might not do all it promises (especially for periods like mine) but it is an improvement in the quality of life for me and that counts for five stars!

The whole purpose of purchasing these period panties is to absorb menstrual flow. I am trying them out right now during my menstrual cycle and it leaked on the sides and therefore through the panties. It's not reliable on its own! And yet, because of the nature of use of this item, it cannot be returned! lol! Imagine... eeewww.Therefore you have to rely on reviews to determine if you will purchase from this company or not.I DO NOT recommend these period panties. Even for light days!I found a *different* brand of period panties with 10K reviews, used them alone during my heavy flow day and found them to be top quality! I went back to THAT company and I'm buying another set.

So I saw these that said they were for heavy flow and decided to take a shot, because they were a good price. This is my first experience with period underwear.I'm... Not all that impressed, given the claims they're for heavy flow. They are absolutely not. I do have a pretty heavy flow, that tends to come in waves (ok tmi but you're looking at period underwear). I wore these without any other products, as I have some medical issues that prevent me from using cups/tampons, and i had overflowed the pad and leaked on to my pants within about an hour. I don't know if it's the wave-like nature of my flow that's the issue, or if they're just not that absorbent, or if my flow really is just that heavy, but for me, these are not a do it all product.That said, the fit is great (they may run just a touch big; i normally wear a M in underwear but bought a SM in these and they're a little snug at the waistband but not as bad as I'd expect and I'd rather too snug than too loose with these). They come up high enough that they feel secure, and the cotton and waistbands are soft. The gusset is a little crinkly when you handle them but not when it's on. They're comfortable underwear for sure, even if they don't serve their intended purpose for me.I will still get some use out of them, so i gave three stars. I'll use them for those will-it-or-won't-it-come days, and those days at the tail end when a pantyliner isn't really enough but I don't feel like hassling with a pad. They'd also probably work well as overnight protection after the first night or two, and they're good for pad backup so i can wear a thinner, lighter pad. They'd probably work great as backup to a cup or a tampon for women looking for that. Unfortunately I was looking for a product that truly worked for heavy flow and these aren't it.Anyway, they're still nice underwear that I'll get use out of. They just aren't really as advertised. I may try a more expensive brand to see if any of these hold up to truly heavy flow.
