Best scraper tool. Recently ran into a vehicle that every gasket was stuck on and would flake apart leaving residue on the surface, most of which was aluminum. This makes quick work of stuck gaskets or whatever else is needed to clean a surface. It’s pretty versatile too which is nice for a scraper. Paper gaskets, sealant, oil/carbon residue, everything I tried it on it worked its magic. I can’t even begin to imagine how much I used this on that vehicle, but it was valve covers, timing belt cover, water pump, thermostat housing, so on and so forth. It was a lot of stuck gaskets and a lot of scraping. The scraper still looks like new so I’m impressed by its durability. Astro tools have always been hits for me, but this is one of my favorites. The size is great and is fairly easy to angle for tight clearances and easy to use. I do want them to make a skinny version of this as well. Overall, it’s a fantastic scraper and well worth its weight in gold. Must have tool.

I was doing head gaskets on my 4.7 Dodge. My machinist recommended this type of scrapper over scotch bright pads or razors. The pad slightly round the ports and lead to leaks. This kept all the edges sharp and clean. Razor can gouge. Used on the steel side of the block.

Works great and well made. I used it on ironhead cylinders and heads and it removed the old stuck gasket material nice and smooth.

Bought after seeing many YouTube mechanics demmonstrated use. DID NOT DISAPPOINT AT ALL. Cleans gasket surfaces well. WARNING: DO NOT BE OVER AGRESSIVE WITH USE OR PRESSURE AS WILL START REMOVING METAL SURFACE.

Works a lot better then a razor blede

Once in a while you find a tool that changes how you do things for the better. Just like trying electric wrenches for the first time. This changes cleaning mating surfaces completely for me. Took it out and cleaned mating surfaces on a piston replacement job for the notorious cracking issues on the late jeep 4.0. Got it done even with the 4.0s uneven factory surface all it did was smooth out the high spots. And gotta say it made the job so much better than using razors like I’ve done for a long time. Far more ergonomic and aggressive than a razor.

I'm a decent shade tree mechanic. I've used various razor blade style gasket scrapers for many years. Saw a YouTube mechanic using this scraper and figured I would try it out. Absolutely the best gasket scraper I've ever used. Great value for the price. Very easy to use and does not chew up aluminum which is a plus as the old razor blade scrapers could shave aluminum. Cleans very easy with some break cleaner. The scraper is a nice size for most jobs. I have large mitts so the handle is a great size for me - those with smaller hands might find the grip uncomfortably large.

Where has this been all my life? Total game changer switching from a traditional tapered edge scraper.
