Falls Apart - Merrell Only Offer a 60-day Warranty - Poor Velcro and Design Makes Shoes Unusable
We bought two pairs of these shoes, one for my 5-year-old and one for my 7-year-old. Both are now falling apart. The Velcro on these shoes is trash, and cannot standup to standard use by kids. It tears free from the shoes (see pictures). It's a shame, because my kids love these shoes and they're comfortable and otherwise seem to be well-designed. But the Velcro issue is HUGE and makes the shoes unusable once it rips free (the shoes won't stay on while running).Despite having the reputation of a quality brand, Merrell only offers a 60-day warranty on shoes. I all but guarantee you that these shoes will fail soon after that 60-day period is up, especially if you have active kids like me. 60-day is nothing for shoes at this price point. I'm unhappy and will be looking at other brands in the future.

Cheap Velcro
Really liked this shoe at first. My daughter loved them, they looked good, and seemed to hold up well. After 4 months of wearing them to school the velcro wore out on the strap of both shoes. Completely fell apart and came off of the straps. Was hoping for more durability from a Merrell product. Currently trying to get Merrell to replace under warranty. Will update if they stand by their product.

Edit 11/24 they are falling apart at the top of the shoe where her foot slides in. The fabric around her ankles is wearing through and this part of the shoe looks like she’s been wearing them daily for 10 months not 1 or 2. The sole and rest of the shoe are holding up ok. They are still her favorite but I’m not sure how much longer they will last.My daughter is picky and hard on shoes. I have been buying her Walmart sneakers and replacing them every month !!! She absolutely loves these. These are durable and comfortable shoes. Merrell makes a great shoe and these did not disappoint.

The straps did not hold up at all. The Velcro pealed off of the strap and had to be glued down. Then, the other strap broke. Very disappointing.

I was willing to pay the price thinking Merrell was a good brand and they were going to last
Don't buy these shoes! We bought these less than one month ago; my son has worn them maybe 15 times... and today one of the velcro straps completely ripped off of the shoe. These shoes were quite expensive; I was willing to pay the price thinking Merrell was a good brand and they were going to last. Needless to say we are quite disappointed... such a waste of money and won't be buying or recommending Merrell shoes again!

Velcro did not last more than 1 week...
I bought these for my 7 yr old son thinking it is a good brand shoe. While the order came on time and the shoe fit him as expected. The velcro was cheap. It did not last more than 1 week and it makes the shoe unwearable. I should have stuck with Stride Rite brand like I usually do cuz their shoes last a LONG time. I will not be buying Merrell anymore!

Great, sturdy, shoe; great foot support; parent and kid approved
We have bought Merrell shoes for our child since she was old enough to run. Until now, we have bought the Merrell Jungle Moc Sport A/C Outdoor Shoe (Toddler), but we needed the next size up, and she wanted "laces" (but not yet laces that you need to tie). Like every Merrell shoe we have bought for her, these fit perfectly, but, more importantly, they're solid and sturdy. She plays hard, but she grows out of Merrell shoes before she wears them out, and I think it will be the same with these. It's nice to have a non-pink choice of sneaker (she asked for blue sneakers), and this blue is vibrant. Now, if Merrell made a shoe that lights up, I'd get it in a heartbeat for her, but, alas, they don't; nonetheless, hands down, good shoes without lights beat poor shoes (poor foot support; shoes that wear out in a month) with lights.

Excellent shoes
Merrell shoes are the best. These shoes were as imagined, and are excellent for hiking and everyday wear. We made the mistake of buying kid shoes at Payless Shoes that were not cheap at $25, and they broke the next day. Then Payless claimed they would not reimburse the shoes since they had been worn once. I always buy Merrell shoes for my own shoes and looked around for kid Merrell shoes and was excited to find these ones. They arrived and have been perfect for our son. He calls them his "Rocket Shoes" I believe because they give him the best grip experience he has ever had with shoes. He likes to run off ahead with them when we are going on walks and hikes. Merrell shoes also give him the foot support to climb and do other activities that would not be as safe with lower quality shoes.
