Does this have the fan reverse function ?

For built-in reversible motor function fans that originally came with a remote that allows a reversible rotation, that's a YES. Mine is an old Klitcher with a built-in reversible function and the old remote crapped out on me. I replaced it with this remote and it works when I cycle between the downdraft to the updraft. The trick in using the remote to cycle it between downdraft and updraft is, (1) Cycle the fan speed from High to Low first. Allow the fan speed to run at Low speed for about 10 seconds. (2) Cycle the fan speed from Low to Off. (3). Within 5 seconds of cycling the fan speed to Off, switch it back to High speed. This will cycle the fan from one rotation to another.

If you cycle any other way with a built-in reversible motor function, it won't work. I discovered this by accident.

Is it compatible with Smartlife app?

This APP is not currently supported by the device. The remote control does not support Smartlife, Alexa, Google Assistant and other internet APPs for the time being.
This product is a universal ceiling fan remote control kit, supporting Hunter, Hampton Bay, Harbor Breeze, Westinghouse, Home Decorators Collection, Prominence Home and almost the others 3-speed fans.
This product uses 315MHz radio signal, with a communication distance of 60m in open areas. In the case of obstacles such as walls, the remote control distance can reach 20m.

Question 3

When in thermostat mode, will this kit reduce/increase the fan speed as the room temp cools/warms?  Or, does it simply turn the fan on/off?

Nope. You can however put the fan in variable speed mode and it will raise and lower the speed automatically.
