Review: Great to use for your hydroponic set up - Great to use for your hydroponic setup, I bought this to keep my eight pot hydroponic system recirculating 24/7 great have had it for about 4 years Non-Stop no problems Review: pump still working over two years! - Love increased waterfall, prior pump had smaller diameter hose, no wonder flow was less. This pump came with several adapters and I do have extra hoses of different sizes, nothing additional to purchase. I made my own small pool and cracked concrete curbing for raised water feature. I love the water sound on lowest setting, unit is quiet!! I have to add water every two days due to evaporation here in So CA. This pump was expensive for me, I hope to attach a timer soon, hate to run for 24 hrs a day. Larger leaves still falling into pool, not plugging up filter at this time. Very nice product. EDIT: pretty nice, I paid $57.00 03/2020 and now is $61.00 04/2022. Still works well. Only drawback is fiber in chamber is wearing smaller. I have to find a scrubbie size filter to make this up to par. I only have large leaves fall- winter. I use kitchen colander to sweep out leaves and bark. For me, a great product! ## Features - HIGH FLOW PERFORMANCE delivers a powerful 1000 gallons per hour capacity, making it the perfect solution for large hydroponic reservoirs, expansive aquariums, and decorative outdoor water features requiring consistent and reliable water movement. - DURABLE CERAMIC SHAFT features a high-quality impellor design that ensures longevity and resistance to wear, allowing for continuous operation in both fresh and saltwater environments without compromising the efficiency of the motor system. - VERSATILE SYSTEM SETUP includes multiple hose fittings to accommodate various plumbing sizes, providing the flexibility needed to integrate this pump into complex irrigation layouts, nutrient film technique systems, or large-scale water displays. - ULTRA QUIET OPERATION utilizes advanced Magnetic Drive technology to minimize vibration and noise, ensuring that your indoor garden or living room aquarium remains a peaceful environment while providing the necessary aeration and circulation for life. - ADJUSTABLE FLOW CONTROL allows you to customize the water output to meet the specific needs of your plants or aquatic life, preventing over-saturation in delicate systems while maintaining the strength required for heavy-duty lifting tasks. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0049XENYS | | Best Sellers Rank | #11,717 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ( See Top 100 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ) #24 in Water Garden & Pond Pumps | | Brand | ACTIVEAQUA | | Brand Name | ACTIVEAQUA | | Color | Black | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 1,449 Reviews | | Flow Rate | 3785.41 liters per hour | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00638104650069 | | Horsepower | 99 watts | | Included Components | Water Pump | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 9.45"L x 5.31"W x 5.12"H | | Item Highlight | Magnetic-drive pump delivers quiet, high-flow circulation for large hydroponic reservoirs, aquariums, and fountains | | Item Type Name | Submersible Water Pump | | Item Weight | 1.6 pounds | | Manufacturer | Hydrofarm, Inc. | | Manufacturer Part Number | AAPW1000 | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | 1-year warranty | | Material | plastic and rubber | | Material Type | plastic and rubber | | Model Number | AAPW1000 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Power Source | Corded Electric | | Product Dimensions | 9.45"L x 5.31"W x 5.12"H | | Product Style | 1100 GPH | | Style | 1100 GPH | | UPC | 719918427877 638104650069 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Voltage | 100 volts | ## Product Details - **Brand:** ACTIVEAQUA - **Color:** Black - **Horsepower:** 99 watts - **Item Weight:** 1.6 pounds - **Material:** plastic and rubber - **Maximum Flow Rate:** 3785.41 liters per hour - **Power Source:** Corded Electric - **Product Dimensions:** 9.45"L x 5.31"W x 5.12"H - **Style:** 1100 GPH - **Voltage:** 100 volts ## Images ![Active Aqua Submersible Water Pump, 1000 GPH, Magnetic Drive, Hydroponic - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ouUUt2CWL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Style** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: What is the maximum lift?** A: At this web page: www.hydrofarm.com/p/AAPW550 it says that it is rated "Static Head (ft) 7.9". So if I understand correctly, that is sorta the "max lift" number. At 7.9 feet, the water stops going up, so this will work at anything lower than that... but the taller, the slower. http://www.pumpfundamentals.com/what%20is%20head.htm **Q: can you put a hose on the intake side of the pump for a filter?** A: Yes, once you take the filter assembly off, you'll find 3/4" NPT thread (standard American 3/4"). I bought a 3/4" npt to hose thread adapter. **Q: what size tubing or hose does it take, and is it powerful enough for a waterfall box?** A: Mine came with several sizes of hose attachments. It goes from 1/2" to 1". It would have to be a small box and the height. I ran a rain garden with one and the rules I go by is for every hundred GPH you can go up a foot but the higher you go the less flow. Mine is only 2 foot up into an upper pool and I get about a foot wide over flow about 2" deep. I hope this help. **Q: how high will it pump** A: I built solar heater for pool. 300’ of half inch tubing. Pump unable to pump through the hose. I had to buy 1/3 hp motor. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great to use for your hydroponic set up *by R***R on March 3, 2026* Great to use for your hydroponic setup, I bought this to keep my eight pot hydroponic system recirculating 24/7 great have had it for about 4 years Non-Stop no problems ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ pump still working over two years! *by R***H on March 10, 2020* Love increased waterfall, prior pump had smaller diameter hose, no wonder flow was less. For me, a great product! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great little pump, but remove internal filter to avoid too frequent cleaning *by M***Y on June 30, 2016* I'm using this to power a 2nd waterfall in my water feature. It moves the water about three feet vertically and 8 feet horizontally and provides a nice flow across an 18 inch rock and down to the pond. It is located in the skimmer behind the skimmer basket. However, small debris still get through and slowed down the flow of this pump by 80% after just a couple of days. I took the advice of another reviewer and removed the internal filter. Now it works great. I expect that removing the filter will shorten the life of the pump, but for this price that's OK. Almost a year later and this little pump is working great. It is protected from the biggest pond gunk by a skimmer basket, but still gets plenty of stuff around the housing. Lot's of leaves and seeds etc from my trees make for a challenging environment, but it's providing the same flow of water as when I first installed it. ## Frequently Bought Together - Hydrofarm AAPW1000 92-Watt 1110 GPH Indoor/Outdoor Hydroponic Aquarium Pond 6ft Power Cord for 55 Gallon Reservoirs Submersible Water Pump, Black - 3/4" Female NPT in-Line Strainer with 100 mesh Stainless Steel Filter Screen (3/4β€œ 100 Mesh) - Active Aqua Hydrofarm 0.75 Inch Inside Diameter Vinyl Tubing for Indoor Vegetation Growing Hydroponic Irrigation Systems and Tanks, 25 Feet, Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sk/products/4048000-active-aqua-submersible-water-pump-1000-gph-magnetic-drive-hydroponic](https://www.desertcart.sk/products/4048000-active-aqua-submersible-water-pump-1000-gph-magnetic-drive-hydroponic) --- *Product available on Desertcart Slovakia* *Store origin: SK* *Last updated: 2026-10-07*
