I use these for straining herbal remedies (decoctions in alcohol and oxymels in vinegar/honey). I washed them before use and removed any stray threads along the seams. The bags are sturdy and work well. For this use, they will become stained over time but this will not have an affect on their usability. I rinse them after each use and launder periodically. I like that the set includes multiple bags in different sizes. I always have one available to use!

I bought these to try my hand at making some fresh cheese. I wanted a bag because I thought that would be easier than using flat sheets of cheese cloth. I am going to put the curd in here and then put the bag in a steamer pot. It is basically two pans that stack. The top one has holes, so the whey will drain out of this bag and go through the holes in the top pan and be caught in the bottom pan of the steamer. I haven't tried it yet, since it is getting close to Christmas at this point, but I am excited about giving them a try. I love that they are reusable. Just wash them out by hand with a little soap, rinse well and you're good to go again!

I use a high-powered blender for juicing. These bags are perfect for squeezing out the juice without the pulp.

I’m just beginning my venture into vegan cheese making and found that typical cheese cloth didn’t help me to accurately separate the nut meat from the whey. These bags are perfectly sized for holding a typical size batch of nut meat. The fabric of the bags is neither too flimsy to allow a real separation of the whey from the processed nuts or so thick that you cannot adequately squeeze out all excess liquid. These bags are easy to clean and of high quality fabric.
