Q: Will rotary blades that are 1-3/4" wide fit through the bigger hole in the lid? Thank you.

Think of the opening as a smile. On mine the smilel opening is about 3" "ear-to-ear" and about 1 1/2" at the widest point top to bottom, so likely depends on the overall dimension of your blades. Also, the smaller 1 qt units come with the lids packed with the lids separate (not yet attached), which means you could add the blades and then attach the lid when full. Some vendors send the 2.2 quart size with lids separate, but on these the lids come already snapped in place.

6.5 inches tall. 5 inches on the bottom, 6 inches on the top. 3.5 inches thick.

Q: Where can one mail the full container?

Local sheriff department they have a process to dispose at no cost to you.

Q: How do you get the top open to insert a used needle, it doesn't budge?

the top should rotate open like a parmesan cheese container. If it was closed and permanently locked you will not be able to open it. Safety feature required by FDA.
