I do not hate the album
Let the record state: I do not hate the album, in fact just the opposite I love it. That being said, I hate the vinyl copy of it. I have exchanged it three separate times to no avail. Each copy I has consistently skipped during the same spots... during my favorite two songs. They happen to be the first two as well.Skipping in first song (Things that stop you dreaming):"If if you cant be what you want... not""her eyes.. like silver trains""If... stop your dreaming"Skipping in second song (Let Her Go):"Staring... glass... dreams... fast... but... dies""And you... no."I refuse to even listen to the rest of the album because I was so underwhelmed by the quality of the vinyl.Oh, and its not my record player because I've attempted to play it on a friends player as well. No difference.*EDIT*The record is perfect. I decided to try one more record player from another brand before I sent it back, as both my friend and I have (had) Crosley Cruisers. So I bought an Audio Technica AT-LP120USB and this record works beautifully on it! Also, all my records sound better on the new turntable than on the Crosley. So, if you have a Crosley, do yourself a favor and put it in the dumpster and spend the few extra dollars it takes to get a decent player. I love Passenger and this record!

I could listen to Passenger 24 hours a day
Mike calls it F*ing depressing folk music, but when I'm down, this is what lifts me. When I'm not down, I just love to hear his voice and his music. I would LOVE to hear him in person.Passenger music takes a little slice of life and gives it wings. Likes many people, I heard Let Her Go on the radio and loved it, so I looked up the band and founded everything I could find. All the Little Lights is his best album to date, though honestly Crows in the Snow (not on this album) is my least favorite song of his and even it has begun to grow on me. The title song from this album describes how little pieces of us die out through our hard times and poor decisions. Holes is probably one of my favorites about how things we view as losses might actually be good for us...we miss them like holes in our heads. There are some lighter hearted songs that still have deeper meaning, like Wrong Direction (fun to try to keep up with the song, but the video is even better) and I Hate. Every song on this album is beautiful and meaningful. I grew up listening to artists like Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan. There are moments listening to Passenger that bring back childhood memories of listening to both of those. The Amazon Download album included several acoustic versions of some of the songs.

Wonderful music and lyrics
Bought this cd after hearing Feather on the Clyde. That song and others are heartfelt and moving. I'll buy more of Passenger's music!

storyteller - If you love and appreciate great song craft and are not yet ...
Songwriter, artist, musician, poet, entertainer, philosopher, storyteller - If you love and appreciate great song craft and are not yet fully immersed in Passenger's work, you should be. If you are familiar and fully acquainted but don't absolutely love what he does, then there is something wrong with you.I just stumbled into his albums recently and was completely blown away. Then, I saw him in concert last night and became even more impressed. His ability to move a listener - whether in recorded content or, even better, live in person, is matched by very few. In a mass of generic, uninspiring noise, Passenger is the real deal. His ability to weave a story in his music and stimulate emotional response is reminiscent of some of the best of the past: Jim Croce, Paul Simon, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan.I challenge you to spend some good, quality time getting lost in Passenger's music and not coming away feeling better - inspired, moved, content, joyful.

One of the best albums I've ever purchased
I had no idea who Passenger was before his single, Let Her Go was released on the radio. I bought the album on a whim because I love that song and I've since said that the purchase was one of the better life decisions I've made. I absolutely love the album. There is a song or two that I don't love as much as the rest, but the vast majority of them have either touching or hilarious lyrics, great music, and are easy to sing along to like a fool in the car.Not all of the lyrics are suitable for kids, so you'll get some sideways glances from any children old enough to understand some of the (bad) words. But, I find the honesty in his songs so refreshing that I just sort of gloss over those words. They work and they make sense in every case. His voice is so different from all of the pop junk that is out today- it's soothing and interesting at the same time.If you like Let Her Go, you'll love the album. I know I did.

A Great Album on Several Levels
First, if you are wondering about the [Explicit] warning on the album, don't be. This album is not full of swearing. I went through and listened specifically for swearing, and there were six instances of swearing in the entire album (across 4 songs). Most of the songs are completely clean. The lead singer of this "group" was born in England, although his accent sounds Irish to this American. If you like the main hit on this album "Let Her Go", the rest are almost that good, and in a style that is not far off from it. Most of the songs are reflective or social-commentary, but not in an angry way. If you're looking for a mellow, yet upbeat album and are OK with something folk-y, I recommend this.I bought this album at the same time I bought "Bad Blood" by Bastille and I recommend both for the same reasons: mellow, yet upbeat music with a consistent quality and style that I can listen to all the way through without skipping a single track.

Passenger / Mike Rosenberg is brilliant!
I bought All The Little Lights after just seeing Mike Rosenberg sing his hit song, Let Her Go, on Jools Holland's 'Later' and have not been disappointed (unlike most other artists I buy from limited hearing). I listen to the album in the car repeatedly and cannot fault it in any way. As a folkie musician myself I like to think I'm pretty discerning and there's not much I haven't heard before but Passenger is really something fresh, original, bright, literate, interesting, insightful and full of a strange kind of joy (despite some rather dark lyrics in places). Also, having checked out interviews and YouTube clips, Mike Rosenberg comes across as a genuinely modest and decent bloke. Disarmingly honest in fact.

Loved it!! Raised many a smile in nearly every song and very easy to listen to!!
Loved it!! I bought this for a specific song when I was feeling very down after the relationship with the love of my life broke down. It's rare that I actually listen to a whole album, I tend to skip through the rest of the songs after a few lines, but everyone in this made me smile at some point, he definitely has my sense of humour. As for people complaining about the language, it does warn you that some of the lyrics are explicit and I personally wouldn't play a new CD to house guests without listening to it first, just saying :-p :-/ I will at some point get the rest of his work because I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it.

Totally Superb
Such special albums don't come along very often. Usually you're lucky to get an album with a couple of good tracks but on this one they are all good and 6 are totally superb. Added to that Mike Rosenberg is a creative who caputure's the esscence of today's societal ills in poetry... "If you can't be what you want, you learn to be the things you're not. If you can't get what you need, you learm to need the things that stop you dreaming..." Beautiful music to my ears, mind and heart. Listen to it or you're missing out big time!

Great recommendation Amazon!
I had't heard of "Passenger" before I decided to sample "All the Little Lights" after Amazon included it in my recommendations. I immediately ordered the CD after listening to the mp3 samples on Amazon. It is beautiful and I have been playing it constantly over the last few weeks. As an old folk - music fan, it has encouraged me to listen to more young contemporary folk talent (e.g Seth Lakeman). I have since purchased another Passenger CD and it will not be the last!
