The only issues would be that the needle holder is of poor design in the tooth area, it is just textured metal not an insert. Works fine on the mono but, it tends to slide easily with the silk.(Get yourself an upgraded needle holder with tungsten inserts if you plan on using the silk sutures.) The next issue would be with the separate practice pad, the one with the cuts premade. It is good for practice and perhaps that is why it is as strong as it is but, I feel that the subcuticular layer is a bit stronger than real skin. Again, good for the beginner but, not realistic. Overall, it is a good kit to start with. One could always upgrade to a better pad and needle holder later. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Surprisingly good quality *by .***. on Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2021* With the disclaimer that I haven't sutured any real flesh (yet), this feels much more realistic than other suture pads I've tried. It does not smell bad and isn't too sticky. The needle passes through the material easily enough and it can be cut well with a scalpel (the others I've tried were too hard to cut easily with a scalpel). All in all, the pads are excellent. The arch gives the custom incisions realistic tension.The only downside (and the reason for the 4 stars) is that the needle drivers are very hard to unclick. However, they are well designed and the suture thread doesn't catch in the joints. I've had bad experiences with pads that are greasy, have an odor, and tear just by you looking at them. I would say the quality of the instruments could be better, specifically the needle driver, but they do the job.
