Terrible product, does not set, need to use 2-3 times more than other brands
This does not work the same as Ball or Sure-Jell. An entire batch of jelly is ruined, it didn't come close to setting, its total liquid and I am completely annoyed. The package says 1/3 cup is equal to 2 oz of pectin, this is false. I used half a cup as my Ball recipe calls for 2.4 oz of pectin, I probably needed a full cup of Anthony's, maybe more. I got Anthony's because it was less expensive but it saves me nothing if I need twice as much.

Great price, but you need much more than other products
Late summer and early fall are canning season at the Reasonable Reviewer household. A key part of canning jellies and jams is having the right pectin. Other brands are more expensive and come with extras like calcium water mix. This pectic is cheaper and the bare bones variety. I was blown away by the price, and immediately ordered it. I made a batch of jelly today using the recommended amount of pectin. After twelve hours, I had juice. I dumped all the sterile jars back into the juicer and added double the amount of pectin recommended, and voila the jelly set. Forwarned is forearmed. I am not angry or upset, just realize that you are going to use twice as much as you think you need. The amount of pectin you get is still comparable to other brands for the price, but it is not the run-away discount that I thought I was getting based on the volume. So far, the quality seems fine.

Read the Ingredients label -- NOT 100% fruit pectin
We've loved purchasing other items from Anthony's --- great company. When we purchased this item, we were just looking for fruit pectin -- 100%, no sugar or other additives. When trying to return this item, we were not able to do so. Just make note -- the 1st ingredient is SUGAR and the LAST ingredient is pectin.
