Can I use it with a 7 inch touchscreen? It is bidirectional?

I confirmed that it can be used with the 7 inch touchscreen on the DSI connector. You can even use two of the pins on the headphone jack to carry 5v power from the pi if you want to remote mount the pi away from the screen. I'm running this configuration in my vehicle for crankshaft android auto.

Can this be used to receive an hdmi signal from an hdmi a/v source?

No. This is only the extension cable between the RPi and camera. This can only be used to receive the camera signal and cannot receive other signals any more.

Yes, the module can be connected to any standard HDMI communication interface.
