I thought it was time to try an upgrade and bought these. When I got them and tried to put them in I discovered that the TE52 has vintage style holes that are smaller than the 10mm needed for these tuners. Rather than return them I decided to be brave and to widen the holes myself - I've done a bit of DIY but am far from an experienced woodworker. I bought a step drill bit: https://www.desertcart.co.uk/dp/B077JKSFRJ and used my electric drill to widen those holes. I did some practice on some other wood, but it was very easy to be honest. Clamped the guitar to a table and carefully widened the hole from the front, then the back to 10mm diameter. I was careful but honestly, I was shocked how easy and neat it was. The tuners then went through with no trouble. But I had to drill small different holes for the tuners. I got the tuners in place and pressed them firmly so that I got marks for where the new holes were needed. I should have put masking tape on to get the right depth but couldn't find any so used trial and error for the depth. Then the tuners themselves were a breeze - no instructions in the packet but it was obvious what to do. Tightened them up, then used them with strings and it was an absolute breeze. So - I had to do more than I really wanted to do because I was scared to damage the instrument. Really cheap for locking tuners, and while they don't feel as solid as the original Fender items, the work fine and fit into the guide holes on the neck perfectly. Turning the locking wheel and tuning button is smooth and they work well.
