Review: Amazing top quality best upgrade - Would give 10 stars if I could. Fitted them to my Squire affinity. Had to drill two small holes to the back of the headstock for the locating pins for every tuner. But worth it for the money .these are Super quality and now my guitar turning and ease of changing strings has transformed my old squire Why did you choose this product over others?: Value for money
Review: Very happy - but had to be brave and do some drilling... - My Harley Benton TE52NA had somehow lost part of one of the tuners. I thought it was time to try an upgrade and bought these. When I got them and tried to put them in I discovered that the TE52 has vintage style holes that are smaller than the 10mm needed for these tuners. Rather than return them I decided to be brave and to widen the holes myself - I've done a bit of DIY but am far from an experienced woodworker. I bought a step drill bit: https://www.desertcart.co.uk/dp/B077JKSFRJ and used my electric drill to widen those holes. I did some practice on some other wood, but it was very easy to be honest. Clamped the guitar to a table and carefully widened the hole from the front, then the back to 10mm diameter. I was careful but honestly, I was shocked how easy and neat it was. The tuners then went through with no trouble. But I had to drill small different holes for the tuners. I got the tuners in place and pressed them firmly so that I got marks for where the new holes were needed. I bought this small hand drill/bits and did very small pilot holes to check everything was in the right place. https://www.desertcart.co.uk/dp/B07PJ71YF2 They were, so then I used a larger drill (still very small) that I eyeballed to be the same as what was needed. I should have put masking tape on to get the right depth but couldn't find any so used trial and error for the depth. This time I used the electric drill and it was also fine/tidy - except one where I apparently just got too excited and went all the way through. Then the tuners themselves were a breeze - no instructions in the packet but it was obvious what to do. Tightened them up, then used them with strings and it was an absolute breeze. So - I had to do more than I really wanted to do because I was scared to damage the instrument. I guess I did with my careless drilling, but honestly it was much easier than I would have thought and I'm very pleased with the result.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is the Pro any better than the Chrome? The ratio is the same 1:18**
A: I don't own the Pro but I am a pro player and the chromes work fantastic for me.

**Q: Do they fit the PRS se guitar**
A: No, not without modifying the guitars head stock to accept the 2 mounting tabs on the Guyker. Other model Guyker's without the mounting tabs may fit.

**Q: Will these work with a right handed Reverse headstock?**
A: If you do it carefully it might work. For your application you would be better off with another set. Like a left handed one.

**Q: Will this work for a bass gutiar?**
A: .....no

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good locking tuners for the price
*by S***S on 9 January 2026*

Bought as a drop in replacement for a MIM 2008 Fender Telecaster. Really cheap for locking tuners, and while they don't feel as solid as the original Fender items, the work fine and fit into the guide holes on the neck perfectly. Turning the locking wheel and tuning button is smooth and they work well. No change to the look of the guitar from the front.
