Effective and quality wiring
This was a match made in heaven for my 2007 Honda CR-V EX. Between the one illistration and YouTube I was done installing this within 10 minutes. The fit and finish is superb and works like a champ. The only down side is that if you wish to use it you have to let it hang out of the hatchback instead of an assembly to mount the plug to.

Check for defects.
The media could not be loaded. The one I got the controller was bulging pretty bad on both sides and the adhesive mounting pad was crunchy and no longer sticky. It's possible it had been stored somewhere heat and cold or some other environmental element got to it.Based on my previous electronics experience, bulging usually means bad, so I didnt even plug it in to the car for fear it would damage my cars wiring. I exchanged it for a new one which isn't bulging and works fine.Install is easy, maybe a 15 min job, and all you need are a 10mm ratchet and a small flat blade screwdriver. The instruction are lacking so look up a how-to on youtube which worked well for me.

The Double Sided Adhesive Does not work
Included Double Sided Adhesive has no glue left in it. Looks very old. From the look of the adhesive, it seems like the product package is also old. Had to go through a lot of trouble trying scotch tape to keep it in place.

Vehicle specific harness - fits like a glove.
Installation of this wire harness requires removal of some car trim. I have ordered car trim removal tool from Amazon for this purpose and it served me well. I have tested the harness with multimeter before closing the trim. You can also buy a 4-pin trailer harness tester for this purpose. I haven't used this harness yet, but planning to eventually rent a U-Haul trailer, which will require this harness. One con - the included double stick tape was not sticky at all. I used a long zip tie (from my own stash) to attach the harness controller to the car body. I wrapped the controller with soft foam before attaching it so that it does not slip out from the zip tie. Foam will also eliminate a vibration.
