This says pvc plastic cards - are they different from regular playing cards in some way? are they slippery?

Cards are made of paper, plastic coated paper and plastic.  Most plastic cards are made of PVC.  They are somewhat slippery, but easily manageable.  The can be submerged in water without harm, but they will eventually vulcanize, dry rot, like a tire or a plastic pot, but not as quickly.  PVC cards can last up to about 20 years.  Keeping them away from directly sunlight would also help some.  The other plastic is cellulose acetate.  The only manufacture of cards with this plastic used to be KEM.  If they get wet or soiled, they can be cleaned, but should be towel dried, spread apart and allowed to dry before restacking them in a deck.  Because of the cellulose they can react with water or above normal humidity.  Their other consideration is direct sunlight.  Direct sunlight will cause damage due to the acetate portion of the plastic.  Cellulose acetate cards are quite a bit more expensive that PVC, but act like a nicely broken-in deck of plastic coated cards immediately out of the box.  I like this feel than I do of the PVC cards, but both are nice.  I have and collect both, but have more of the KEM type.  Other cards are made of cellulose acetate since KEM, always made in the State New York, was purchased by the United States Playing Card Company, USPCC, around 2004, based in Kentucky and made there now.  More recently the USPCC was bought out by a foreign company.  All of the cards made by the USPCC are still manufactured in their existing facilities as far as I know.  KEM cards have an easy code depicting the month, week and the year of manufacture.  Before they were bought out my the USPCC a code might read 1092 or October 1972.  After the USPCC buyout 1092 means the tenth week of the year 1972.  If you see 4719 it is . . . you can figure this out.
I could go on, but enough is enough for now.  I have some beautiful card from all over the world, mostly KEM, but quite a few others made of PVC.

What does the joker look like? do the two jokers look the same?

They are not the same. One joker is a colorful jester face and the other is a full-body jester.

Like the different colored suits.  But wish they sold these in bridge size decks.  If you do can you post a link?
