I almost gave up, it was a real challenge to get the wings str-e-t-c-h-ed to the correct positions. But, once installed, such a cute bug! It spins, but does not rotate, which I knew. We installed it on a thinner metal rod we had here, and now it swirls and spins in the lightest breeze. Brand new, cannot comment on longevity, but the material in the wings seems fine! Love it.

This item is best glued together as the 6 colored wing pieces keep falling off in the wind. Its awkward to put together, as the pieces keep slipping out of place. you almost need 3 hands!

After I glued the petals it is not spinning at all. It's just sitting in my lawn.

I really like this spinner! It's a very good price, The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is "engineered" so the wings are too close to the stake (that goes in the ground. All of the wings are going to always "slap the stick" , at least with the "Little Bug" one. Also, when I first installed it outside, After a high wind day, all of the wings flew off. After that, I glued them with super glue, and you will need to do that too. They tend to blow out on windy days. But I still like it, even though there is not enough "clearance room" with the one I bought.

I love this little yard bug! I solved the problem of the "wings" coming free of the body by placing a tiny drop of Gorilla Glue on each stem before I inserted it in the spinner. My only disappointment was that the wing colors aren't quite as vibrant as they are in the picture and the post that the bug's body is attached to is fairly flimsy and spins in the ground with the wind. I wish that this bug came with a stake that could be pounded into the earth and then have the bug's stake inserted into it. The yard flowers I bought are designed that way and they are far more sturdy.
