Olmsted Forge tools have a 10 year warranty.

Q: Does the metal go up through the handle to make it stronger?

According to the seller, they do. The metal part of the tool does extend through most of the length of the handle in order to provide structural integrity. The cushioned cork rubber outer part of the handle is just there to provide a comfortable, ergonomic grip AROUND the metal core of the tool.
