Universal Downspout to Drain Pipe Tile Adapter (Black, 2x3x4)

Needed to disperse water away from foundation. This helped make the project succeed.

Live around a lot of pine trees. Needles would clog the drains and getting it cleaned out was costly. There us a downspout going down the side of our deck that was constantly getting filled with pine needles. Decided to put in a filtering system to allow the rain water to pass but stop the pine needles. Only problem is the filter top is square and the bottom is round to fit an underground drain but the area to be installed is over the deck. Needed the adapter to fit the bottom of the filter housing. Everything fit together but the square to the square downspout is slightly larger and allowed rain water to splash around the edges. Some plumbers putty to fill in the gap worked. Same as the round adapter. Both a loose fit. Anyway, it did the job with some jury rigging to make it work.

Exactly what I wanted for my project. I like the 'snap in' feature.

So this adapter is supposed to go from a 2" x "3 down spout (of I suppose anything like that) to a 4" schedule 40 corrugated pipe and it does... sorta. The real dimensions of this piece are 2.5" x 3 5/8" by 3.5". So while this does fit over the down spout is will leak and wobble off; this is absolutely too big. The round side is small enough that it does fit inside the 4" pipe.... by a lot. The locking tabs do engage the ridges in the pipe, but don't hold very well as they are not engaged fully. Again this connection is a sealed as the Titanic currently is.I am on the fence as to returning these as I have a project that needs these starting in a few days, but for everyone else, do not buy these as they don't fit. I don't expect a water tight seal but the connections should not be loose or wobble.
