I started using this as soon as it arrived. It is great. It securely holds the leather so I can work with it. The vise ssection can be positioned so you can sit on the long base section to hold the pony steady while in use. All the parts and screws were included. It took about 3 seconds to assemble. Totally useful and worthwhile purchase.

Works great for me. I've read other reviewers stating that there were missing parts and other issues but mine is everything I though it would be. The clamp works great for everything I've stitched with it so far and there were no missing/broken/damaged parts.

Was worried based on some of the reviews, pleasantly surprised. Made of decent hardwood, all of the parts were there, fit and finish is pretty good. I will do a little bit of sanding and stain it to make it even nicer, but it is very serviceable as is. You will definitely want to add your own leather to the jaws to improve grip and prevent marking your project. Very good value, no way I could make one for what this cost.

Not sure if this is going to work out or not. Very poorly made, the contact points (where the leather is to be held) do not line up, one is offset slightly. Also, one of the upright pieces has a small crack through the wood that may or may not become an issue. Additionally the bolt that comes through the bottom to mount to the upright part does not fit flush, thereby not allowing the base to sit flush, it wobbles. I guess I expected more, this product is poorly made.UPDATE; Mar. 16, 2018. I was contacted by the Seller's customer service dept. and advised that they were sorry for my displeasure of their product. They stated that they made every effort to ensure that defective product was not shipped, apparently Ithey missed the mark on my order. They sent me a replacement Stitching Pony and it arrived today, it is absolutely perfect. I did receive a defective product originally, but the important thing is that the Manufacturer stands behind their product and that means everything to me, I could not be happier with the Company AND the Stitching Pony. Buy with confidence from Yesurprise, they will not disappoint you..

I am just getting started with leatherworking, and this is one of the tools that is very handy to have. It allows the holding of the pieces of leather while stitching together.This is a simple construction stitching horse that does the job. It arrives in two pieces with a bolt and wing nut that holds them together. When assembling be certain to put the bolt head in the side with the larger hole, this allows for the base to set flush on your work station. There are a few adjustments that are available on this horse. The clamp can spin 360 degrees on the base allowing for more comfortable work, or clamping the base to your station if needed. The tightness can be adjusted using the bolt length that holds the leather clamp together if needed.

I decided to try this out because these can be so expensive and this is a fairly low price, but you really get what you pay for. The wood was very splintery and I had to go to a lot of extra work to make it useable, including sanding the whole thing down as well as putting it together. It was definitely more work than I thought it would be just to get it to where it wasn't going to be dangerous or inconvenient to use. The grip on the leather is fine and works well, i just think it's not great quality or ready to use. That being said, at this price it may be work the extra work to get a usable end product rather than dropping a lot more money for a ready-made one. I'm not sure I expect it to last for very long but it is useful and fulfills the brief after you give it some work.

Used this pony for a few months now.Works very well and seems to be built well.Just started leather working and have never used any other, so I can't speak to how it compares. But, it holds my work nice and firm. Clamps and unclamps with ease.I use a quickgrip and clamp it to my workbench and stitch. Haven't tried using it under my leg, but I'm sure that would work well.

Does exactly what it's made to do. Makes sewing projects smoother, easier and time efficient. My sewing time and frustration has dropped due to this second hand.

This makes leather work so much easier! I can do it...as I usually do...on off time before the TV etc. It is portable..it works...and it solves problems I didn't know I had. Clamp it in...Sit on it...ANYWHERE...and go to work.I am a serious leather worker but it is a sideline to knife making, outdoor pursuits and other such things. I am not a FT leather guy...but I need to sew stitch and sew leather and tough fabrics regularly. This gizmo makes that so much easier. I am catching up on projects 2 years behind.

Nicely made of hard wood. You only need to put a coat of Tung oil or your favorite finish. Worked great on my first project. Not sure if the closing mechanism will hold up in the long run, we'll see.

Works great and easy to assemble. Personal tip is to wrap the gripping ends with some fabric or leather to soften it so the wood won’t damage your work. Otherwise, great product for the money with full 360 turning ability so it’s great for small items too.
