My chapati's are still in the process of improvement and can get into all crazy shapes and the best part is that it is wide enough to accommodate it. I used sort of a plastic one before and I needed to sprinkle a lot of atta just to get it to slide nicely which ultimately killed my already bad shaped chapati. The surface is smooth and amount of atta used is less when compared to earlier. It's got a small dent ( the outer circle is lil flat) at one side which I think is how you must rest the chakla if resting it vertically to keep it from rolling away. But in no way it's affecting the wide surface. It's negligible. Finally it's heavy . But that's what keeps it from moving around.
