Will it cause input delay on wired controllers?

That depends entirely upon if you can get the damn thing to stay in your Ps4. Mine was super loose and entirely useless, and the only fix was to just give up on it. As for input lag, it depends on how many ports your using, as it may not have enough power to run everything plugged into it, but from what little i saw, little to no input lag

Always on inside the port. And there is small led on top of each port to indicate it is connected
