Does the job!!
We burn all winter. Every couple of days I listen to my husband splitting wood outside. It takes weeks. He doesn’t mind since he thinks it’s good exercise but now that he’s in his 60’s, I worry about him hurting himself. I finally convinced him to get a log splitter. What a game changer. He split all the wood for the entire winter in three days. Very impressive. So worth the investment. It’s small and compact so it doesn’t take up much space in the shed. He was able to move it all over our property & split the logs instead of hauling big, heavy logs to the house. Would definitely recommend

Powerful Small Splitter!
This 20 ton log splitter exceeded my expectations. I had no problem splitting oak and gum and even the logs with knots! It’s all the power I need as I don’t split anything over 16” diameter.I did add a hydraulic filter on the return side even though there is a screen in the tank. Just for peace of mind. I love the fact it doesn’t take up much space and easily rolls around.I also did set it up on car ramps and set a small table up beside it to save my back. I also did have a problem with the control valve not working properly using the auto return feature. The company was helpful and did send me a new valve and it now works perfectly!I also had a leak at the hose fitting pump side. I used some Permatex ultra black rtv sealant where the suction hose attaches at the pump and it took care of that. Even with those problems I still highly recommend this splitter. The engine is quite impressive and starts so easily!

Powerful enough to split anything I've hit it with..
I bought this figuring if I split 3 cords of free wood it will have paid for itself essentially and I've done that a few times over. I split red oak, ash and beech which are all relatively easy straight grain woods with the occasional crotch to split and it went through it all with relative ease. I split 24" rounds with it. I had some 30"+ rounds which I split in half and it went through those. It was easy to assemble with some minor inconveniences. One of the cotter pins was too short for the hydraulic actuator. That was a trip to the hardware store but I had to go there anyway to get more hydraulic fluid since the hydraulic hose on the cylinder top was leaky. Customer service sent a new one which turned out to be too big and they resent the correct one without fuss. It initially takes about a gallon and a half of HF and a quart of 5w-30 and regular gasoline for the Alpha Works motor. Motor is good and starts on the first few pulls. Runs steady and hasn't had any issues so far. I had to retighten a few bolts after running it for a few hours and I always top of the HF after running it. Make sure to get your hoses clamped well especially the one on the bottom of the cylinder. It can't be fixed later without dumping oil everywhere. Soak it in hot water before shoving it up there.I'm generally not mechanically inclined but I was able to figure it all out. It's pretty low to the ground so you don't have to lift anything too high but you will be working hunched over no doubt about that. I wish it had a work table on one side (the engine side since it's always in the drop zone).Nothing is perfect but this is $500 cheaper than the ones at HD and Lowes and I don't need to put it on the trailer hitch to move it around.

Easy set up, does the job
Got it together in about 30min, just add gas, oil and hydraulic oil, and you're good to go. Be sure to cycle the hydraulic oil and make sure you put in enough. It says 1.6gal., but I found it took a little more. It's super light, and yes, super handy. Lol.Went through 2 cords of seasoned juniper and it even kept up with the really knotty stuff. My 8 year old operated it with no problem. Great little splitter for the price!

Lightweight easy to move around by hand
Fits thru man doors, pulls easily with one hand, splits anything you put in at idle speed, powerful, machine splits as fast idling as my old splitter was full throttle, does 3 full sized truck loads on 1 tank of gas. Downside, must not cut wood crooked, or it will spit it out the side and could damage the piston because there is no rail guide, but as long as you’re experienced it will be the best little machine you ever used

Very user friendly even for a do it yourselfer.
The log splitter was easy to put together and convenient to move around. I have split half a cord of wood with no issues at all. It’s easy to keep clean and maintain as well. This also stores easily in my shed.

Makes a slow job fast! Still sucks air into hydraulic lines though
This machine was great overall. Fast, makes quick work out of piles of wood. My only complaint is that no matter what I do it’s still sucks by air into the oil lines. Clamps are tight, fittings are as tight as they should be, I followed the manual step by step exactly.
