ube powder review
This was my first time trying Ube.It’s worth the money to keep it simple for baking and the smell of it I liked for its sweet and smooth purple-ly texture.I would use that for baking for cookies for even cupcakes whatever you can come up with.

Waste of money
This doesn't even turn the food purple. It is super big pieces and grainy. It's not a powder. So misleading. I'm disappointed and wish I could return this. I used half a bag on this cream and it's still not even purple. Just crunch specks. I can't even use it. What a waste!!

This is NOT purple yam - it is purple sweet potato
I was in the impression that it is a purple yam as what they call it UBE like what it says on the package . I grew up in Philippines and I know exactly what UBE should taste like and looks like .. when I cooked the powder and taste it , it actually taste purple sweet potato, I can totally tell it by taste and color. The real UBE has a deep purple color and has stickier texture when cook longer, from the photos I shared, the first picture is a real UBE should will look like .

Good
It’s good enough, price it’s okay, taste good, it’s very similar the flavor, the only ingredient in the list it’s Ube so it’s really good. What I did to use it is boiled water in a pot, 1 part of Ube in 3 parts of water to rehydrate the powder and after almost 1 hour I got a purée. So it’s pretty easy to use

If you want to make it work for coffee, mix it in & let it absorb the fluid! CREAMY!
I knew it would be more "grainy" from the start. When I mixed it in with almond milk for coffee in a blender, it got creamy and thick. I think that was perfect! The flavor was quite strong for only 2 tablespoons in 2 cups of sweetened almond milk creamer for 4 cups of coffee. I wish they would sell a pound of this and add an Ube flavoring extract to it, a two-ingredient combo. Without extract, the flavor is strong enough but I think it would be cool if they had an extra-flavored version of this. I'll take all the ube flavor I can get. This flavor is getting popular in coffee shops. I like the Jans brand, they sell it in my local Ross store, and has been a quality reliable brand from overseas.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY!
DO NOT BUY!It’s grainy and has false information. The back has a caution warning that is not included in the stock photos. I don’t recommend and I will not be using for food. The reason it is so cheap is because of how poor the quality it is. Please spend a little bit more money on a better quality ube powder or paste. Use my mistake as a lesson

Ignore the bad reviews, they were looking for an Ube Latte Mix
This packet of Ube (Purple Yam) powder is legitimately so good. People complain that it doesn’t dissolve, well they probably were looking for a latte mix for a boba milk tea drink, and for that purpose this is NOT the product you need. This ube powder is for making rich thick jams like Ube Halaya, which is what I made with it. One small packet like this made 2 8oz jars of Ube milk jam for me. I simmered a cup of heavy cream (you can use half & half if you dont have heavy cream) and melted butter (about 5 tbsp) in a small pot, over medium heat I stirred this packet of Ube powder in and it started getting thick as the cream was evaporating, then I mixed in a can of condensed milk, and a couple of squirts of Ube extract/Ube flavored food coloring, kept it on medium heat and kept stirring until it was thick and goopy, than I let it cool and put it into glass jars (8oz size Ball jars with metal lid which is available here on Amazon). I use this thick milk jam on English muffins or a spoon of it served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or just eat a spoonful of it like how some people would snack on a spoon of peanut butter. If you’re an Ube lover, definitely get this, and if you love the Ube color, make sure to also buy a small bottle of the Ube extract/Ube flavored food color gel to make your jam a bright and deep purple color.
