Moves Some Serious Air — Best Bang for Your Buck
I picked up the Hurricane 20" box fan during a heat wave when my AC couldn't keep up, and honestly, I wasn't expecting much for the price. Boy was I wrong. This thing pushes air like crazy. On high, it'll move curtains across the room. I have it in a roughly 300 sq ft living room and on speed 2 it keeps the whole space comfortable. Speed 3 is honestly overkill for most situations unless you're trying to dry a wet carpet or cool a garage. It's a genuine white noise machine on that setting too—if you sleep with fans, you'll love it. The listing says "quiet speeds" and I'd call that fair—with a grain of salt. Speed 1 is genuinely quiet, just a gentle hum. Speed 2 is moderate—noticeable but not disruptive, even during conversations or TV. Speed 3 is loud, no way around it. But that's the trade-off for moving this much air at this price point. I run it on 2 overnight and sleep fine. It's lightweight plastic, which some might see as cheap, but it makes it easy to move room to room. The carry handle in the back is well-placed. The feet are sturdy enough for floor placement and it hasn't vibrated or walked across my hardwood floors like cheaper fans tend to do. The grill spacing is tight enough that I'm not worried about fingers or pets. Really versatile. The floor mount design is great. You can set it flat on the ground to push air along the floor, prop it against a wall for angled airflow, or even mount it. I've used it to vent a stuffy bedroom by pointing it out the window, and it does that job beautifully. This is a no-frills workhorse. If you need fancy features like oscillation, remotes, or smart home integration, look elsewhere. But if you want a fan that moves a ton of air for under $30, this is hard to beat. Great value for the money and is made of a robust material. Great for budget-conscious buyers, hot sleepers, garage/workshop use, anyone needing serious airflow on a dime.

Reasonable performace for the price
A light model fan. A bit noisy, not too bad. I have it in my garage so I'm happy. Air flow is light at high speed. Not overpowering. Air flow less noticeable from 20ft. Inside that range you can feel the airflow. Not bad for the cost

Good and powerful fan
The fan works great, but it's not that quiet. At the lowest setting, it's not too noisy and I can easily sleep with it on.

Awesome fan!
This thing is great! Pushes alot of air out and generates some noise to keep my son from hearing me walking around when he sleeps. Cools our house down great paired with a standing AC unit to push the cold air into my living room to help the central air (during this heatwave its doing great!). Very easy I opened the box and plugged it in within 10 seconds and turned on the knob, works great! No scuffs, made of sturdy plastic, should be easy to clean for years to come.

Ludicrous airflow, ludicrous noise. I love it.
I bought this to use as a window fan. I’ve went through 2 actual window fans this year and I NEED. MORE. AIRFLOW. I have a gaming computer in my small bedroom, you can’t escape the laws of thermodynamics, it gets HOT after a while. So I got this HURRICANE floor fan, stuck it in my window, and got rolled pvc liner that goes underneath showers and tile to make it waterproof and create a seal. I cut a hole in the pvc slightly smaller than the fan and stretched it over, and created a flap so I can close it if it’s too warm outside. Let’s talk about the LUDICROUS airflow and LUDICROUS noise. It’s got 3 settings. It’s got a knob with three settings. 1 being the lowest airflow, 3 the highest. 1 lowest- I have not needed to use anything more than this to cool my room. Even on the lowest setting, it’s a hurricane. So much airflow, louder than most fans, but I can still hear well enough that I don’t hear it over my headphones. 2 medium- It’s like sticking your head in the back of a 747 engine. It’s loud as a jet engine. Once again, I don’t care I need LUDICROUS airflow. That’s why I bought this fan. 3 high- It’s creates a continuous blast wave of air, and like a high explosive bomb, it will knock light objects over on my table, invest in paper weights. It’s also loud as a blast wave. You’d have to talk uncomfortably loud to have a conversation in a small room to hear each other. Once again, I NEED LUDICROUS AIRFLOW, I. DON’T. CARE. IF. IT’S. LOUD. There are bladeless fans that are much quieter, but it’s impossible for them to move as much air as this Hurricane fan. It’s got huge blades, they moves a LUDICROUS amount of air, and yeah, it creates LUDICROUS noise on medium and high. I still don’t care. This is the best fan I have ever purchased. I just bought it, so I can’t say how long it will last. But the noise comes from the airflow only, it doesn’t vibrate or spin in an unintended funky way. So yeah, love this fan. 5 stars, would buy again as long as it lasts a decent amount of time.

works well and easy to clean.
its a nice fan and feels sturdy enough to last a long time even though its made mostly of plastic, with care it should last a while, i really love that they have a cord pocket and the face plate is easy to remove for easy cleaning of the blades and it is a bit loud but not terbly and pushing a really good amount of air even at low speed. worth the price in my honest opinion,

Last-minute fan purchase
My daughter‘s working as a lifeguard at camp down in South Texas. Last-minute purchase because the cabins get very hot. She said it worked well. Very light not much noise cools very well. No issues at all.

Great airflow, bad Acoustics
This fan is pretty good at the main function of a fan, moving air. No complaints there. However, as someone who appreciates their sound just as much as their airflow, this hurricane isn't great. At 120v it pulls 40w on low, and 55w on high, and the tone matches those measurements. That is far, far too narrow a margin. Low is comparable to medium, or even high on similar box fans I've had in terms of both acoustics and airflow. So if you just need the job done, go for it. If you want some unobtrusive background noise with low power consumption, look elsewhere.

Not impressive, but not a let down
I bought this for the wildfire smoke as I live in Alberta and it saved me and my asthma during April/May of 2023. I taped 4x MERV 13 Furnace Filters, 20x20x1, to this thing, and a piece of cardboard for the side I typically set it on to rest, and it worked wonders. This is known as a Corsi-Rosenthal box if you want to look it up. We actually bought a Mila, which is a smart home filter, and this at the same time. My room mate used the Mila and I used this box fan setup. It filtered more air, faster, and efficiently than the $500 smart fan filter setup. Routinely, we found their room smelled like smoke, and mine smelled fresh and smoke free. Another thing of note is this fan is on for at least 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, and it hasn't started squeaking, rattling, or vibrating in an undesirable way after 3 months. The Mila on the other hand has a squeaky fan already. Something of note is, even on the lowest setting (1 our of 3) it is very loud but also pushes a lot of air, on the highest setting (3 out of 3) do not expect to hear anything but the fan if you are anywhere near it. The only thing that will overcome the noise of the fan is a loud movie, ads on tv, or a fire alarm. However, for the amount of air it moves, I don't know how it could be any quieter than it is, this thing is a beast.

Perfect for sliding patio doors! 🌬🌬💆
For my intended use, it's PERFECT. I wanted a window fan that would pull the cold air from outdoors into my apartment at night. However, all my apartment windows are "crank" windows that wouldn't take the typical window fans that are on the market. I began searching for a high powered fan that would fit in my patio sliding door. This fan fit the bill. It's light weight and narrow enough that it's not trying to tip out of the door frame. Fits comfortably against the screen door. It doesn't compare to some of those metal industrial fans on the market in terms of air flow but it's definitely not weak either. In the evenings is where it's capabilities really shine. That cold breeze that comes in is so refreshing (I just have to remember to get up early to close the windows before the daytime air turns warmer). It arrived totally assembled and ready to go. Fast delivery (even with covid delays). So happy I made this purchase as my apartment doesn't have air conditioning and my portable air conditioner really only cools my bedroom. I've attached a photo and a video to give other potential buyers more of an idea as to "what they're getting." And I obviously highly recommend sticking this is a patio door in the evening! 🌬🌬💆 Update 24/11/08: it’s become our white noise at night. We enjoy how loud it is. It’s been running every night for years and still going strong. Every so often, we need to pull it apart to clean it—thick dust will get stuck to the blades and slow it down/make it less loud.
