We were looking for a monochromatic hard backed place mat to use in between our seasonal and holiday themed ones and thought a marbleized "pattern" would be more interesting than just a plain solid color. It was hard to find one that was cork backed and in a neutral color tone so we ordered these. They are much nicer than what we were even hoping for. They are very well constructed and have enough heft to them that they don't slide around. They wipe clean easily. They were well packaged and came with 4 matching coasters which we didn't need, but they are so attractive that we kept them.

They're pretty sturdy and thick with cork backs and lacquer finish. The photos in the listing show what appears to be a metallic gold foil look which is stunning with the blue, giving them a quartz look. But in person the gold isn't metallic, although the blue is still vibrant. They came beautifully packaged in a gift box wrapped in cellophane, with the lid actually off so that you can see the items without unwrapping.I haven't used them yet so I can't say much about their level of heat resistance. I'm sure they'll be great for hot plates of food but you obviously wouldn't use it as a trivet for a hot pot or serving pan of food fresh from the stove or oven.

The back looks like cork . The front design In black looks “vintage mats”.They’re okay as far as thickness, fingerprints are easy to get on them as touched . They are like shiny on top very reflective.It’s like a mirror. I see myself excessively cleaning things due to fingerprints. They smudge once touched.I’m not taken aback by them, but they would make a nice attraction for a black table setting.

I got these because they match my table clith (same pattern) and they will help my table cloth not get all dinged up!They come in this gorgeous gift box set. They are a REALLY nice thick durable material! Coasters and mats!Ive never had such amazing place mats and they greatly add beauty to my kitchen that needs a remodel!

These look so nice on our table. Love that they are heat resistant. Unfortunately they slide on our table more than I expected them to but not enough where we won’t use them. Love the coasters we can use all over the house.
