What is the difference between grigri 2, grigri3, and grigri+? is there a "best option"?

Google will give you way more comprehensive answers than here, and videos. But, short answer, the + has anti panic so your belayer will have a much harder time dropping you to the deck, it's the one I make my kids use. I use a 2 if I need a grigri for myself though.

Can i tree climb with hand ascenders and lower myself with this grigri device or should i get the id?

You could. Hand ascenders do mess up your ropes. Other devices needed to ascend. This is a good device for lowering.

I prefer the regular over the plus for most applications, but the plus is nice when I have newer climbers or my kids belaying me. so.... both lol, the answer is both haha
