Review: Nice upgrade for the Model Y - This is a very good upgrade for the Tesla Model Y if you are interested in interior ambient lights that turns on and off with the standard ambient lights in the car. The end results look great but there are a couple of small compromises that I will detail in my review. The kit comes with more than enough tools for the full installation job. I'm relatively comfortable with making simple modifications in the car and have experience removing the footwell panels required for this installation. I would say the installation is easy to moderate. The only difficulty I encountered is that the driver side cable is a bit short to completely hide the wiring. I was able to keep the driver footwell light in the correct place, but because the wiring to reach the footwell light connector is too short, the only way I could make it reach the driver footwell light is by having part of the wire go across the air conditioning vent. If it was longer I would be able to hide it behind the footwell panel. Other than that the installation is pretty straight forward and I was happy that the dashboard light strip was easier to install than anticipated. I didn't need to use the tools to be able to press the light strips into the dash. Once installed, there are a couple of less than ideal areas, of which I have attached pictures. The center console area will be filled with the control box and a lot of wiring. I have a console tray in there so it will be cumbersome to access the space below it. The good news for me is that I don't use the center console storage too often, and I can still fit my J1772 adapter in the tray I have. The center console light strip's connection to the lighting source is pretty loose, so I used some black electrical tape to hold it in place. The other area that's less than ideal is the visibility of the wiring for the button to control the lighting and, to a less extent, the lighting source wiring for the dash light strips. The control button has a red wire, so it's a bit more visible than I'd like. I mounted the button behind the center screen under what looks like speaker grille. The red wire and the lighting source/wire are fairly visible by the passenger entering the vehicle. But once seated, it's pretty much out of sight. I found that the dash strip lighting source wiring on the driver's side is fairly well hidden from the driver's perspective. I'm OK with this setup and will leave it as-is. If you do not want the red wire visible, you can either mount the button on the passenger side very close to the edge of the footwell panel, or just not install the button and completely rely on the phone app to control the lighting. Once installed and working, the lights look wonderful at night. Both the control button and the app are very responsive. It's pretty cool that the app allows for basically any color to be mixed and displayed and gives the interior of the Model Y some nice extra pizazz at night. During the day the light strips blends in very well with the metallic trim and look OEM. It remains to be seen how long these lights will last. But they look good enough for me to consider getting another set later on as a backup in case something goes out. I think if you are interested in ambient lights that look fairly OEM and turns on and off with the car's ambient lighting, this is a pretty good choice.
Review: Great looking upgrade to the Tesla Model Y and fairly simple to set-up - A MUST - Was looking at the NesTour - but those needed a lot more wiring/cabling/adhesuive, this was fairly straightforward and almost identical install after watching countless YT videos, but simpler. I think these LED additions look beautiful, similar to my MB GLE in terms of mood, the brightness of the cabin (configurable), and the luxurious feel. Lights can be controlled by the app, the on/off button I mounted on the side console, or the cigarette plug-in. I leave the last two on and let the main controller turn them on/off automatically. I have a slow transition set between a 7-color set in the app, there are so many options to choose from in terms of colors, transition, and duration. It can even sync to your music playlist. However, the big knock I have, which could be a deal-breaker for some, is the wiring comes up short in a couple of places. The driver-side footrest light cable is the worst. You can see how I basically have the light hanging out, it's the farthest I could get it, and used the extra clips they sent to mount it. No longer OEM-looking, but unnoticeable unless you're looking down there, and don't think about it! Hopefully, I don't kick it by accident, and it's kind of nice how much it illuminates that side. I had to spend most of the installation time on this issue and settled with having it stick out. Another area cables are too short is where you stuff the sub-controller in the armrest, my storage tray add-on is really snug, almost jammed in just to fit. The wiring isn't too thick or too much, just short so I can't shove down the storage tray all the way. All-in-all, I'm still happy with the purchase, the car feels "preemo", the inside looks great and it's worth keeping.

A: VIHIMAI's R&D department has not yet given a reply on the release date of the full lighting kit. We believe that good products take a relatively long time to design and test, thanks for your understanding.

**Q: Are the main controller and sub controller synced wirelessly? And where can I find the installation video?**
A: Yes, the main controller and sub-controller synced wirelessly, and if you purchase you can scan the QR code in the instruction manual to get the installation video.

**Q: Does this work with the tesla y 2023 performance? an earlier version i tried found that it was too tight at the top section of the console**
A: Yes, the interior lighting kit can work with tesla model y performance 2023. No matter whether this tesla lighting kit was in the earlier version or the current one, the size of the light strip has not been changed. If it is too tight, it may be due to the difference in the assembly of the original console. Therefore, for the part installed on the top section of the console, we suggest cutting a V-shaped groove at the turning position of the light strip to release the tension. We have added this auxiliary step to the current product installation manual.

**Q: Will this work with the 2021 Model Y?**
A: Yes. It works with the Tesla Model Y 2021 very well.

This is a very good upgrade for the Tesla Model Y if you are interested in interior ambient lights that turns on and off with the standard ambient lights in the car. ### ⭐ Impossible to install on your 2022 model 3 long range without damaging your console

Everything is easy until you reach the curve where the sliding door opens . It is impossible to install. The installation video shows being installed on a previous model and not the 2022 model 3 long range or performance which they advertised to be compatible with.
