It works.
Cut myself bad processing a rooster yesterday. My right hand slipped and cut the vein just below my second knuckle on my left thumb. Put pressure on it til hubs could find the Woundseal stuff. I had bought this stuff right after my last knife wound (yeah, I'm dangerous in the kitchen with sharp pointy things), when I had to get 3 stitches in my finger. I live in a remote area, nearest clinic is over an hour away. Hubs poured a container on the cut, and I put pressure back on it. I hadn't known til today that this stuff is like chemical cauterization. Stings. A lot. But better than bleeding out on my kitchen floor. Put gauze on the cut after, and a very snug bunch of surgical tape to hold the gauze in place, and put pressure on the cut. Made the mistake of removing the dressing like an hour later (the curiosity was killing me), and it started bleeding again, but not as badly. Wash, rinse, repeat. But today, it's not seeping, not infected (it was a very yucky knife covered in chicken ick). I'll take the dressing off in a day or two, so I can clean it and let it air dry out, and stick some Steri-Strips on it. This Woundseal stuff should be in everybody's emergency medical stash. Amazing stuff, really. The blood was flowing heavily, and it stopped it. It would have been fine if I hadn't removed the dressing. I have since ordered a pair of cut resistant gloves.

Seriously handy to have in first aid supplies
Pretty sure the manufacturer would frown on using expired product, but I finally had a use for this tonight. It was expired, but it worked! I was an idiot and sliced my thumb tonight. Iโm not sure it needed stitches, but I really didnโt want to go to the ER (too late for urgent care), and it was a relatively small cut that just wouldnโt stop bleeding (maybe it was the serrated knife). I was going to try butterfly strips, but came across the wound powder in my first aid supplies. I had to use it twice, but I probably didnโt use it properly the first time, so I donโt blame the product. Second time is holding. Iโm just glad this kind of thing exists, and Iโm very glad I didnโt have to go have it taken care of.

Not as pictured but the genuine item. REVIEW UPDATED
+++Original Review+++ It is the item that I ordered, but it did not come packaged like the picture, each 4-pack contained 4 small tubes that look like tiny ointment tubes. I really needed this to come packed in the packets and the plastic case like the picture for our med kits. 2 stars because of the deception. +++UPDATED REVIEW 2018+++ Why I raised my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. I was trimming my dogs nails and cut one too close to the quick. Luckily I had some clotting powder on hand because even though it was a tiny little cut, it was squirting blood out like a windex bottle. This WoundSeal powder and some compression and I was able to get the bloodbath under control. We tried a clotting stick and just compression and raising the wound above the heart, but it just wouldnt stop bleeding. The WoundSeal Powder worked within a minute. So although it did not come packed properly and was a slightly different version than expected, it performed exactly as I needed it to.

You won't really appreciate this stuff until the first time you use it!
This stuff is absolutely amazing when you need it! Originally ordered this to have on hand for my dad who is taking Coumadin, and bleeds easily; but, I totally peeled back the skin off an area about the size of quarter on the back of my knuckle, when a wrench slipped, while I was adjusting my bandsaw.- blood was flowing everywhere rather rapidly - so I went upstairs, to where my wife was, and she grabbed and opened one of the packets of WoundSeal Powder, and began sprinkling it over the wound. The stuff looks like sienna colored dirt (my wife says finely ground cinnamon bark, without the smell). It immediately stopped the flow of blood everywhere she sprinkled; we missed a spot on one edge - but, it quickly stopped when we pushed some excess powder into the very minute opening! But, the most amazing thing is the fact that the powder formed an instant "scab" on the wound - which was very stable - and it healed twice as fast as what I expected - and appears that I may not end up with a scar. I definitely recommend this stuff to anyone, as it is easy to carry with you, due to the small size of the packets - you can even carry one in your wallet - or you can simply place one of the small plastic boxes of 4 packets in your first aid kit. Told a friend, who is a truck driver, about it, and he immediately ordered some to carry in his truck!

Bleeders need this in all med kits.
I am a bleeder who takes daily aspirin and lasix to thin the blood and reduce artery blood coagulation. The other day this old guys arm got cut on a rough guard rail as was ascending the stairs on my porch - much blood began to flow mainly because of the blood thinners. I carefully poured in the dry WoundSeal Powder of one of the tubes. Very prompt blood SEALING occurred with very slight tinge of pain (better than any regular antiseptic - and in an instant a nice scab formed with further blood flow STOPPED. In a few days signs of the 4 inch cut had all but disappeared. Please let aged or thin skinned or Warfrin/asprin/lasix etc users know about this instant relief source - when I show the results to others they agree the product is amazing. PTL ! When first applied there is a slight, momentary sting - barely noticeable for a second or two - much easier than some of the bright colored Mercurochrome or other antiseptics I have used in the past. (they do not help to coagulate or speed healing).

I bought a second 3x4 pack very useful
I ride a motorcycle and these are the perfect size to secure in a backpack. And though you never want anyone to get hurt accidents in the kitchen, work ect happen. I bought a 3x4 pack about a year ago so 12 total. I had 8 left but they had cone in handy many times so decided to stock up. Good price per tube aswell. You can save leftover powder from small cuts just by screwing the cap back on. Im no docter but it even seems like it could certainly help it in a bad wound situation combined with dressing and pressure. Not medical advise though

So I need more and got this and glade it was a tube with a Screw cap . This stuff save me from going to the er ! It seal and Stitched me up and stop bleeding in 30 Sec . Thatโs a good thing when your far from a hospital and in the woods of Allegheny national Forest!!

Works really well with wounds
Many products that are readily available in U.S. is not available in Canada. An example is this product that stops gushing wounds. I tried looking at my local pharmacies in southern Ontario and the Pharmacists all gives me a blank look every time. This powder from the product form a cap at the wound to stop the bleeding. Many outdoor enthusiasts use this product. My dad has blood clots that forms a blood blister at the base of foot from the veins. Once it bursts, the bleeding is not easy to stop. The problem was finally resolved from surgery, but before then, we had to go to Emergency more often than not. Having this product before would save a couple of trips to Emergency, hence the recommendation.

Better than nothing
It makes quite a mess and it's hard to tell if it really had any effect. My husband is on anti-coagulants, so we are always looking for products that can stop minor cuts and nicks. We used the WoundSeal Powder on a small cut on his finger and the blood kept oozing through it. It might have slowed it down a bit. At least it doesn't sting as much as NuSkin and it washes off pretty easily.
