🖤 Keep it Cool, Keep it Classy!
The 120mm Aluminum Fan Filter Grill in black is a versatile and durable accessory designed to fit all 120mm fans. It can be mounted directly onto the fan or any compatible housing, ensuring optimal airflow while effectively filtering out dust.

It does what one would expect
The package contains the covers; it does not include screws of any kind. That said, the mounting holes work for the skinny threaded screws that screw in the metal case and the larger screws used to screw into the plastic holes of the fan. It not only protects the fan from random objects, but it will also collect dust, but I would not rely on it being the primary protest against dust.

Great filters to keep junk out without restricting flow
Have used this type of filter for a variety of applications where maintaining max air flow is paramount. In dusty environments the filters will need to be cleaned every few weeks, but this design can be vacuumed in place - no need to remove or wash.Nice build quality, and enjoy that they come with matching hardware to complete the look.

for an odd cooling configuration
I built a computer earlier this year, with one of the desired traits being as much active case ventilation as possible. This included one case fan at the bottom of the case, acting as an intake fan. (This is one of a total of six case fans, three of them intake at the bottom and three of them exhaust at the top.) The case (Cooler Master Elite 430) has two vents on the bottom. The one furthest back is used by the power supply (Thermaltake Toughpower XT), which has a bottom-facing cooling fan for itself. This power supply is a little too long to allow a 120mm fan in the next vent toward the front, even though the vent is 120mm. I ended up using an 80mm fan salvaged from an old computer. The arrangement of ventilation and mounting holes on the vent allows several sizes of fans including 120mm and 80mm. Mounting the smaller fan was no problem, but the challenge was then to minimize the amount of cat hair and dust that this fan would pull in from the desktop the computer sits on. (The case feet allow about 3/8-in clearance from desktop to bottom of case.) I had to use an odd method to mount this aluminum mesh filter to the holes meant for a 120mm fan. On the side nearest the power supply, I had to carefully weave and tie some wire to hold the filter tightly to the case vent. On the side furthest from the power supply, I used two sets of brass machine screws and hexagonal nuts. I then used label-maker tape to seal the case-vent holes nearest the edges. This arrangement is not perfect, but it does keep most of the dust and hair from getting sucked into the case through this vent.

High pressure loss, significant CFM loss.
The filter was a bit of a pain to install, the screw holes could be a tad bigger. The common fan screw has to cut into the fan plastic anyways, or at least secure to the fan in some way. So it doesn't need to be so tight that the screw is also cutting into the filter's screw holes.Anyways, the mesh is so fine that it significantly drops the airflow of the fan it is installed on. While that's a good indicator that the filter is doing its job well it's really impacting the cooling performance of my system.

It helps
These didn't quite fit on my 2 HP desktop computer cases, but 2 top screws did fit, and a bit of black duct tape on a black case along the bottom, and they work (I'm NOT a 'form over function' type of guy). As mentioned, they're a metal mesh, not any type of foam filter material. They won't keep out ALL the dust, but certainly reduce it, and do keep out the larger items such as hair and carpet lint... You still have to periodically open up your case to blow out the collected dust on the cpu heatsink and fan, but less frequently, and it's a lot less. The filters being metal, easy to wipe their surfaces with a cloth when you do your dusting... Worth it to me.

Works great, although the item picture is a bit deceiving . . .
Bought this to install on my Thermaltake Armor A90 side intake fan that I also purchased at the same time. The pic doesn't really tell You which color You'll be getting as I was hoping for the black version to fit my case. Although it does say "black" in the item title ; ) Fortunately this is what I received, although it doesn't ultimately matter since I mounted this on the inside of the case on the other side of the fan anyway.Get this if Your case didn't come with a dust filter for Your fan slots. Fits perfectly with a 120mm case fan which in my case was a Thermaltake Tunderblade (blue).

Great as finger guard and large object filter
It blocks out large particles well, but doesn't really block much dust. Maybe it's just because my fans are so powerful that it pulls all the dust through. It works really well as a finger guard and blocks out hair and whatever big things might end up going through the fans, but it decreases the airflow greatly, which are all things I expected.

Great but won't mount flat.
Used this to block some dust for my custom desk build. Works very well. The 4 holes for the screws are somewhere raised so you won't be able to get it completely flat unless your mounting holes are recessed.
