With this brand I could not do more than 1/4 tablet. Even that usually knocked me out cold with 30 minutes. Specifically, they're soft enough to snap in half or quarters with your fingers. There was a question of whether breaking them in half would affect absorption rates. I don't believe it will because these tablets immediately dissolve in water, which means they'll immediately dissolve in your stomach.
