Q: I have 3 wires Will it run a conventional central heating system?

I replaced my 3 wire British Gas Programmable Room stat las at month with one of these and it works fine. Note that this is just a thermostat to turn the heating on and off based on your times, days and temperature requirements. If you have a combined hot water and central heating system, you will still required a controller for basic hot water and heating on/off times. When using this Ketotek room stat, the basic heater controller should have the central heating set to be permanently on with the Ketotek stat actually being used to controll temperature and times for heating. Having the basic controller set to heating on permanently provides the constant live supply to Ketotek stat. If you turn your heating off at the hot water/ central heating controller, you will cut the power to the Ketotek stat. Setting up the stat is very easy with the app and much like traditional programmable stats if using the unit itself. It’s worth checking the temp the stat reads with your old stat or other thermometer/ device as mine was reading a few degrees lower than my old room stat. This too is easy to change with the App as there is a Calibration feature to enter the value to make it read what you want.

Q: Is this compatible with a mains eco boiler?

Hello, this smart thermostat provides one dry contact to control the boiler. Whether it is applicable depends on the control method of your boiler.

Q: can you make the display always on ?

The constant screen light time setting range of this wifi thermostat for underfloor heating is 5-30 seconds. The rest of the time the screen brightness is reduced to save energy.

Q: Can you use a separate power supply with a no voltage return to the boiler

5 and 6 are dry contact outputs. Are you trying to connect power in series between output ports 5 and 6 and the boiler? It is possible if the boiler needs to have power supply control.
