I like it.
I have had the Kasa doorbell for about a year now, and I am very happy with it. It has worked flawlessly without any problems. I have a Ring Pro doorbell on my front door, and the Kasa doorbell on my back door. The Kasa Doorbell and the Ring Pro are both similar in build quality and picture. However, the button on the Ring Pro doorbell got cracked over time. I don't think that will happen with the Kasa Doorbell. The biggest downside of the Kasa doorbell for me is that it will NOT ring the old wired mechanical doorbell in my house (the Ring Pro doorbell will do this). The biggest upside of the Kasa doorbell for me is that it does not require a subscription to view the videos (the Ring Pro doorbell does). The Kasa doorbell uses a chime unit that does not connect to the Kasa app or the internet. You change the ring tone and volume by manually pressing buttons on the side of the chime unit. The Kasa doorbell uses a dedicated wireless signal to ring the chime unit. This means that the chime unit rings instantly, and it does not rely on an internet connection. The Kasa doorbell does not give motion alerts on the Chime unit. The Chime unit is for the doorbell only. Motion alerts are only available through the app. You can add additional chime units, but I haven't been able to find an official Kasa chime for sale. I used this one instead: [[ASIN:B09G2S532N] SECRUI Wireless Doorbell] I just followed the directions that came with the new chime unit. When it said to press the doorbell button, I instead pressed the pair link in settings on the Kasa app. The recording feature works very well. You can access the video recordings through the app without a subscription if you install an SD card in the doorbell. And, you can remove the SD card to copy the recordings to your laptop. The recordings are in MP4 format and they are very good quality. No subscription is required to record videos, view the videos in the app, or to copy the videos to a laptop. I would buy the Kasa Doorbell again, and I am considering replacing my Ring doorbell on the front door with a Kasa Doorbell.

Just what I have been looking for.
I love this product. You DO NOT have to pay $9 a month for THEM to keep your video. It records to a 128Gig SD card. Installation is simple. The Kasa app is very nice. You can draw a square where you want the camera to notice activity. It records audio and video when motion is detected. It erases old video when it runs out of memory. If you have to grab video, on iPhone you can screen record so you can grab what you need to your phone, and send to anyone from there, even police, so easy. When I first installed it. It said the SD card was not the right format. The app kind of froze for a while........it was downloading latest firmware. When that was all done, everything worked great. It comes with an external electronic doorbell as you have to disable your current doorbell. The electronic doorbell has 3 volume levels, much louder than the old fashioned bell we had. It has 8 different ringtones. I did have to buy an $80 Netgear WIFI booster as out router is in a room in the back part of the house and the doorbell is at the front door. Even thought my phone shows 5 full bars, the video camera wasn't getting wifi. Once the WIFI booster was "WPS" synced to the router (push the button on each device) it all worked. When you monitor the video feed, you can hear audio from the outside. Using the app, you can use your phone to talk to the person at your front door. The audio is loud and clear. I have 2 KASA wall switches that turn on the lights to the front and rear doors in to the house. I have 2 KASA lights that use the app. You can change color and brightness. I have 4 KASA smart outlets, when Christmas comes, the app turns on all the Christmas lites in the house a the same time. I am in heaven. 1 app for everything with NO MONTHLY FEE. This is working for me. I hope it works for you too. I might buy a cheap small tablet that can be set to monitor the video at the front door all day.

Kasa Smart Video Doorbell Camera (KD110) – Great Quality, Great Price, Easy Setup
📦 First Impressions: The doorbell arrived quickly and was well-packaged. I really liked the compact, modern design—cute but functional. Everything I needed was included in the box, which made it easy to get started. ⚙️ Setup & Ease of Use: Setup was extremely straightforward. All I had to do was download the Kasa app and follow the step-by-step guide. No special Ring torx screw required—install was smooth and beginner-friendly. 💡 Real-World Use & Performance: The video quality is excellent—clear during the day and solid at night. I appreciated how responsive the notifications were and the number of settings I could adjust. The best part? The ability to use an SD card for local storage, meaning I don’t have to pay monthly cloud fees like with Ring.(See photo comparison: Kasa vs Ring) — you can really tell the Kasa holds its own in clarity and color accuracy, especially in daylight.” 🔁 After 1 Week of Use: Still working great. Being hardwired means no recharging, and having the included chime is super helpful. It works even if your internal doorbell wiring doesn’t—plus, you can place it anywhere in your home, garage, or even a shed since it’s WiFi-based. This flexibility makes it feel like a premium solution. I’ve uploaded a side-by-side snapshot comparing my old Ring camera (First Image) to the new Kasa unit (Right Image). The difference is clear — better brightness, more definition, and less fisheye distortion with the Kasa (Option to adjust the fisheye in the App). If you’re on the fence about switching, this sealed it for me. ✅ Pros: • No monthly Ring fees • SD card storage support • High video resolution and responsiveness • All installation parts included • Great price for the quality ❌ Cons: • Limited smart ecosystem integration (e.g., doesn’t show up in Samsung Smart Hub or Brilliant apps) • May require switching smart home devices to Kasa/Tapo for full compatibility 🎯 Who Is This For? This is perfect for anyone looking to ditch Ring’s subscription fees without compromising on quality. It’s best suited for those already using—or willing to switch to—the Kasa/Tapo ecosystem. If you’re starting fresh, it’s a great foundation for a smart home setup.

Outstanding products and customer service.
I have purchased many IP/security cameras over the years. Usually Foscam but also Adorcam, Heimvision and others. I currently have 3 TP-Link/Kasa indoor cameras and I have to say that they have performed flawlessly and for a lot less money than most of their competitors. I had a Ring Doorbell that worked well but I just couldn't swallow the $40/year subscription fee. So I decided to add another Kasa device to my collection. I added the Kasa KD110 doorbell for the price of the Ring subscripition. The Ring playback would have gaps in the recordings. It wasn't really 24/7. The Kasa Doorbell arrived in an unopened TP-Link/Kasa box, not a generic box like many other items I have received from Amazon. I went to set the doorbell up but it is slightly more complicated than other doorbells. I connected the device but I could not get it to connect to my wi-fi. By the way, my router is a TP-Link as well (also a quality device). Anyway, I emailed TP link support and they responeded with an automated email suggesting that I call or use their chat service, which I did. The person on the chat was professional and obviously knowledgeable because they realized that I had not connected a needed jumper on the existing door chimes. (very important) because that was the reason the wifi in the camera did not work. They said it had to do with the resistance. Anyway, I also received an email form TP-Link with very detailed instructions that would have also help point out my mistake. I responded to the email thanking them for the assistance and I let them know that the problem had been fixed. They thanked me for letting them know and then sent the following email: "Thank you very much for your cooperation with the troubleshooting of this concern. We take all customer feedback seriously and would appreciate if you could take a minute or two to leave a review on your experience with TP-Link’s products and services. Please kindly leave your review on the website of the retailer where you made your purchase from. Here is a Amazon link for your reference: Amazon Sign-In After your sharing, may I have the link to spread your recognition to our team? It will greatly encourage them to keep going, improving our products and customer service. Thanks for your continuous attention and support, we'll continue to provide you with high-quality products, more competitive prices, and complete service. We look forward to hearing back from you. If you have additional information or feedback to provide, please feel free to let us know." I can honestly say that this company offers quailty products for a great price, great apps and all capped off by outstanding customer service! Bravo!

Wouldn't stay connected to it's phone app
The instructions on to install this video doorbell, attach it to your 2.4G (which it requires, not 5G) Wi-Fi network, link it to the phone (Android in my case) app, and make the Bluetooth connection to the chime aren’t very clear. Especially the need to tightly time what you do when relative to the various colours of blinking lights in the front of it before they move on to the next step. However after several attempts and master ‘paper clip’ resets, I initially got it working at my desk. Later however when I actually installed it on the outside of the house, wired (including bypassing the house’s original chime), it had lost connectivity to the app. So I loosed it from the house (the reset is on the back) and did it all over again (out in the cold) and it worked again. A couple of hours later – gone again. So did the reset all over again and nothing. I then did a bit more in-depth troubleshooting – my router could see it and ping it, I could ping it from my phone too (with excellent numbers), so I don’t think it was dropping off due to Wi-Fi issues. E.g. distance. It just seemed like the app had ‘lost’ it as an available device. I had installed a SD card in it for local storage, so I pulled it back out, checked it in my PC, and there were tons of exactly 60-second videos on it. Which was a bit inconclusive. Also, interestingly enough, through all of this the actual ringing of its remote chime when the button was pushed worked. So I contacted Kasa’s (actually TP-Link) tech support via a chat window, and not too surprisingly they initially wanted to talk me through all the reset stuff I had already done three times. I told them about my being able to ping it all the way from my phone and they then concluded the camera itself was defective. They said they would send me instructions on how to return it to them for a warranty replacement. Which seemed a bit strange to me as this looked more like an app issue instead of a camera hardware issue. I later received an email from them asking me to send them proof of purchase, country where I am (Canada), and photo of the on the box serial number, which I did. Later more I received another email from them, contradicting the prior one, saying because it was less than 30-days old, rather than they warranty replacing it, I should return it to the seller (Amazon) for a refund. Huh?? They only warranty it if it’s MORE THAN 30-days old?? Whaaaat? So I did just that and that ended of my experience with Kasa. Back to shopping for a video doorbell.

Packed with features! But use jumper wire or it will disconnect frequently!
The Kasa Smart Video Doorbell Camera is packed with features. A beautiful camera that records in up to 2K video. The motion detection and optional sound detection are great. There is no “bubble effect” with this camera either. The night vision does a great job. As with other doorbell cameras, you can adjust the activity zone to pick up motion in the areas you want. The motion and sound sensitivity can be adjusted also. It has two-way audio that’s pretty decent for the overall cost of this doorbell camera. It also has preset responses you can choose to use when needing to speak to a visitor or intruder. Notifications can be activated to receive them on your phone or tablet. The doorbell button LED or status LED can be turned on or off also. The biggest feature that attracted me to this doorbell cam was that it doesn’t require a subscription to save video. You can install up to a 124GB mini SD card to store video. Of course, if you want to subscribe to Kasa Care you can more easily access your cameras video and it allows for 30 days of saved video for $3/mo. or $30/year for one camera. $10/mo. or $100/yr. for up to ten cameras. Otherwise you will have to use a screen recorder while playing your video to save it to your phone. The camera has a 24 hour continuous video recording option, so even when nothing is detected it will still be recording. This option can be very useful, but will fill the SD card quickly. The chime is good. It doesn’t have a huge variety of pre-loaded chimes, but it has a pretty decent selection. The doorbell can be paired with more than one chime at one time, but unfortunately I haven’t been able to find where an additional chime can be purchased separately. The only issue with the Kasa Smart Video Doorbell has been that it’s prone to disconnecting from the network quite frequently. I have been communicating with TP-link support due to this issue and they have been very helpful and responsive. Gaby at tech support is super! She was able to send me another Kasa Doorbell Camera very quickly after troubleshooting my original camera. Update: USE THE JUMPER WIRE! This is what is causing everyone's disconnecting issues! I skipped the jumper wire installation also and after receiving the new doorbell from Arlo Tech Support still had disconnecting issues. I did some more troubleshooting and found that the existing doorbell chime not only was buzzing, but the chime connected to the doorbell was randomly moving up and down. I then searched online to find out if the lack of a jumper wire being used could be the cause of all the issues. Bingo! The jumper wire allows for the doorbell camera to be fully charged by the doorbell transformer at all times. This is needed due to the power it requires to keep the camera functioning. Without the jumper wire, the electric current fluctuates to the doorbell and at times will not be enough to keep the camera operating properly or the wireless connection steady. Since installing the jumper wire all the issues cleared up and even the doorbell microphone sounds clearer. The wiring video in the Kasa app shows the jumper wire installation, but doesn't tell why or if it is needed. I have adjusted my star rating to 5 stars and highly recommend this affordable, feature packed video doorbell!

Provided recording on a SD card is very primitive (2nd update)
The Kasa Smart Doorbell camera is adequate given the cost. If you do not need more than basic camera functions and processing software and just want to see who is outside it will do the job. It is easy to install using your conventional door bell (16-24 VAC) wiring. Do not forget to short the conventional bell chime with the provided jumper wire. The included separate chime paired well and works fine. The device is bulky when compared to other doorbell cameras but I do not consider this a significant drawback. The camera is adequate, but the sensitivity adjustments and activity zone do not work well, and even with ‘motion sensitivity’ 2 (min is 1) and ‘record motion that lasts at least’ 4 sec (max is 5 sec) the software records events for people and passing cars that are at least 8 feet outside the active zone. It even records precipitation events once in a while. In addition, I have another major criticism. I guess, that many people, like me, have bought or consider buying this doorbell camera for the advertised feature of micro SD card slot that can be used to record video and audio on a SD card and keep it all private. No less important for probably all these customers is that they do not want to subscribe and pay to Kasa in order to have access to recording of events. However, it looks almost intentional that the developers of the doorbell camera firmware provide very crude and low quality firmware to use for the SD card recording. For one, there is only one option to record continuously 24/7. There is no option to record the events only, if desired. The 720 resolution is very coarse. The 1024 is acceptable for better look at the persons and the scenery, but the 128GB card I put was filled 100% in about 25 days. In addition, when recording, it is almost impossible to see what happens during an event immediately after it takes place - it shows up as an event in the recording later. On top of that, scrolling the recording has a step of 5 minutes, ie ,xx:05:00, xx:10:00, …. There is absolutely no reason not to provide firmware that can do a better job. I am left with the impression that the CD card recording is provided as a teaser to get customers to subscribe for a paid access to recording and viewing events. 30 March 2023 Update We have been using the Kasa Smart Doorbell Camera (KD110) for 2 months now. It has been working fine so far, but I have new observations about the use of the SD card. The first time it filled up I reformatted it, which deleted everything on the card and started 24/7 recording again. I also reduced the resolution from 1024 to 720, reduced the sensitivity to 1, increase the min motion time to 5 sec and even reduced the active zone a bit more. All these changes did not make much of a difference from what I reported in my original review including using the complete SD storage space (128 GB or more accurately in computer terms the available113GB) in about 25 days. However, when the card got full again I decided not to reformat to see what will happen. The card kept recording 24/7 and marking events to review but every day it lost the data from the oldest recorded day. In other words, it appears that now I have a rolling window of about the last 25 days of recordings. This is much better and I hope this is what the developers had in mind and provided with their firmware. I still find the 5-min steps in viewing continuous recordings unacceptably large. 4 May 2023 2nd Update Here is my latest observations about micro SD card recording storage: = 18 to 25 days starting with an empty SD card or after reformatting depending on the selected resolution: Video Quality 720P, 1k(1080P), 2K(2304x1296). = after the SD card is reported full it continues to record and for 1k resolution: provides access to the last 12 days of events and the 24/7data 2k resolution: last 10 days (this may not be very accurate since I recently switched to 2k)

Better than the human eye.
This is the best video doorbell in the world, not an exaggeration. I speak with authority. I have tried and returned several. The worst was the Ring door bell. The Kasa Doorbell is so easy to set up using the app and hitting the plus sign to add device, and no monthly charge. The night vision is like daytime. I have never seen this quality of night vision. I started off with one of their indoor cameras that was great, easy to view inside my house when away. Then I bought their doorbell. If this isn't the best photo quality you have ever seen, then there is something wrong with your vision not the doorbell.🤗. One tip--- When you mount the bracket that holds the doorbell, notice the arrow--- The arrow must be up. Wired doorbells are the only way to go. The SD card is a must to review footage. So nice to not pay a monthly charge. If some truant from life steals the doorbell, do what I did, I installed two outdoor cameras, one is hidden in a cedar tree, with just a little trimming. The outdoor cameras also have recording on SD cards. I love it when some silly reviewer says: "not bad for a cheap camera". There is a big difference between an inexpensive camera and a cheaply made camera. This is probably the finest camera money can buy. Minolta, Canon, and Nikon are green with envy. The graphics, the night vision, the easy backup history, the appearance, the chime, and the angled mounting bracket are the best. Some reviewers that complain about loss of signal--- it isn't the camera it is their poor internet. I installed a repeater to extend the signal, and located it near the bell on inside wall. Another silly reviewer said the app needs work, the app is outstanding, simple, affective, flawless. This is no average video doorbell, this is a masterpiece of technology. If this had been made in America it would have been over $10,000 . Come to think of it, I don't think any doorbell is made in America and half of my fellow countrymen don't even know how to use a doorbell. Five stars+++ I especially like the review feature. There are drop down boxes when motion is detected, either green for motion only, or purple for person detection. So If I want to see who came into view, I just click on purple frames. This is a wonderful camera doorbell.

Cumple con lo que promete.
Muy buena opcion por el precio. Solo les recomiendo tener en consideración. 1. 4. Hay que tener paciencia con el envio. Se tardo mucho en llegar casi 10 d. El paquete llego en excelentes condiciones.

Decent device, works well through the winter.
I purchased the Kasa KD110 Video Doorbell spring of 2023. It was a great purchase. I live in Southern Ontario, so the weather ranges from summer hot to winter cold. This device has worked great throughout it all. I had to replace the old typical door bell in our house. I pulled it all out. Ran a new power supply and hooked it all up. The door bell and the chime paired up immediately. Setup door bell using the Kasa app, got it connected to my wifi and was watching everything in front of my house in minutes. Installed a micro sd card and can review everything the camera sees. The image is decent for both daytime and nighttime viewing. The motion detection works well as does the person detection. Have had no issues with connecting to the camera from where ever I may be. The two-way audio works well enough. Would be great if they would add the ability to view the camera from a web browser on my computer.

Great product
Love you can use this product without paying. Great camera quality and love how it rings your phone like a call. Definitely recommend.

So far super impressed
I wanted to get a video doorbell that was cost effective and did 24/7 recording without paying for a subscription. This is the perfect solution for this. I bought a 128 GB micro SD card which I put into the back of this doorbell. Amazing how much storage fits on a little tiny card these days. I am very happy with it. Install was easy. The step by step instructions in the app are simple to follow and accurate. Took about 15 minutes to turn off power, take out old doorbell, bypass the ringer, screw in the adapter, connect doorbell, turn on power, and connect to wifi and format the SD card. There are a lot of options in the app for notifications, video quality, sounds, being able to have messages sent. My kids think the new doorbell is hilarious too. I like playing the message for them that they are trespassing and the police have been called. The video quality is quite excellent. Night vision is decent too. Hoping it lasts a long time because I am quite impressed. The AI that picks up when a person approaches the door and instant notifications work extremely well.
