I’m a licensed esthetician with highly sensative skin. Finding an affordable mineral only sunscreen to help combat my mild rosacea has been difficult. I would’ve liked an SPF 40 at least for the face, however I do pair this with another sunscreen for my rosacea and it’s done the trick. Upon application, it does blend in immediately, which is nice surprise for a zinc based sunscreen. There is a slight greasy feeling for the first 5 minutes or so, then it becomes more of a glowy finish. I have skin more on the drier side, so I was not too upset about that. If you have oily skin, it might not be the best fit as it can appear to make the skin appear more oily after applying. I like the formulation based around sensitivity, and so far, my skin likes it! Would purchase again when pairing with an additional sunscreen.

Good for very sensitive skin. I'm still searching for my hg tinted mineral sunscreen. Updated review: Upgraded to 5 stars! Since my first time trying this when it first came out, and after much sunscreen trial and error since then, this is still my favorite untinted mineral sunscreen. I've purchased it three times now. I can't tolerate "chemical" SPF. Even a popular Korean 'chemical SPF' product I used gave me irritation, sensitivity, and breakouts on my face, and hives rash on my chest and neck. Not this! This is the mildest and most trusted sunscreen I have. Cast: Yes, this is a white mineral sunscreen and has somewhat moderate cast as one would expect. The cast is not as strong as some. I can't imagine an effective mineral sunscreen having less cast that this without added tint, though. Application: I find this is easy to use. Much easier than other untinted mineral sunscreens. meaning I don't have to rub as hard to get this to fad into my skin. Also I don't find it streaky. Sensitive skin: Yes! I have very very sensitive skin, and this is now my go-to SPF when I have a flare up. If I really need a tinted option, I'll use Aveeno, but this when I just need no frills protection and hydration. Post-Procedure-Yes! When I get laser treatments for rosacea or some other treatment, the doc approved this one, even when the normal instructions are "nothing on your skin today". Effectiveness: Yes! This works. I was inspired to come back and give this updated review after spending time outdoors in the sun yesterday. The next day, I noticed burning, itching, redness and irritation (sunburn) on half of my neck and chest, only on the areas I had missed application with this sunscreen. The areas where I used it were protected. Finish and look: Honestly, when I'm using this, I'm not likely looking in the mirror much. It feels hydrating and comfortable to me. I'd guess that some people might find it heavy. Use: I like to use this to protect my neck and chest, on areas that might come into contact with clothes, or where I don't want to use my most expensive tinted sunscreen, Also great for post-procedure, and inflamed skin. I hope Vanicream will keep making this!!

I got this as a new try type of purchase. I was buying cerave before this, but I found cerave to be a little too dry for my skin type. I have combination skin that is on the dry side. I really like this product because it’s creamy feeling and moisturizing. It feels moisturizing going on, and it feels moisturizing when it’s absorbed in the skin. It’s just really great. It doesn’t feel watery or thin. It’s perfect. I love it. It doesn’t have all of the same ingredients that cerave has, but I have found that I can use other products and layer them with this product. For instance, I use the ordinary hyaluronic acid as a base and then I put some vitamin C serum on top and then put this SPF over those two and it works fantastically. There’s no weird peeling or anything like that and that’s what I really like about this product as well. I can layer it and there’s no issues that I’ve seen. I also have issues with cystic, acne and hormonal, acne, and this product does not cause any issues for me in that area and that’s also a win. When I first put it on, it does look white, but it will absorb into the skin and look normal once it gets a few minutes to just sit there. I haven’t noticed any stickiness either and that’s also important to me because I don’t really like sticky feelings from my SPF or lotions. Like I said before it’s just very very creamy and I love it. Added some photos to show you the ingredients list and what it looks like right out of the tube and what it looks like just lightly rubbed in.

Used it this morning for the first time. So far I like it. Feels very gentle on my skin, did not irritate my skin in anyway. I have very sensitive, reactive skin. So I'm really glad I found this facial moisturizer with spf. Spf moisturizer is very important to me. I use the Vanicream vitamin C serum and their facial cleanser. I listened to a dermatologist and she recommended the brand Vanicream for sensitive skin people. So far I have loved their products. I have the regular daily face moisturizer arriving today so I can't wait to give that one a try too. One thing I will say about this spf moisturizer, do NOT use if you have oily skin. This product is very moisturizing so it is perfect for someone with dry skin. A little goes a long way. Not pasty at all. When I first put it on I could feel the oily substance but it immediately absorbs into your skin. I've had it on for 2 hours now and it's completely settle in my skin and I can't feel any residue what's so ever. Not sticky at all.

I've tried (and still have full bottles) of expensive sunscreens! They all made my skin very sensitive. This one is wonderful and causes me no allergies or sensitivity. It's cheap, full-spectrum, scentless, derm recommended, and the white film will be fully absorbed in one minute.

I have been searching for a good facial sunscreen for a while. This is unfortunately another one for my bin of sunscreen flops. Note that I have very oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin. This product was used for typical daily wear (for me, taking several 10-minute walks in the hot summer sun throughout the day). I don't sweat much, but I am typically quite oily even without moisturizing products. Pros: - Very moisturizing. It would be good for someone with very dry skin. My skin looked exceptionally well hydrated. - Unscented. My skin tends to react poorly to scented products. This had no scent. - Does protect against the sun. With proper application, I have never burned with this product. Cons: - VERY greasy. I applied just enough sunscreen to cover my skin. It felt like I was covered in an oily film. My whole face had a slick sheen to it. It was especially greasy looking in the summer sun. - Does leave a slight white cast. I would say my skin tone is lightly tanned. There was a light but noticeable white film over my whole face, even after rubbing in and drying down for 15 minutes. Would be best for those with fairer skin tones. - Thick formulation. It was difficult to apply in a uniform layer because of how thick the product was. I prefer a more liquidy formulation for even, light coverage. It felt very oily/film-like on my skin even after drying down.

I’ve only been using this moisturizer with zinc oxide (sun protection) for a couple of weeks, and so far it’s great. Glides on smoothly, unlike thick sunscreens that can get blotchy, and it absorbs quickly. My skin feels very soft and fine lines disappear, so I know the moisturizer is working. I’ve had problems with the drying effects of sunscreen in the past. No discernible scent, which is a plus. It does leave a faint whitish cast that disappears after a minute or two, and my skin tone looks even. The very faint “glow” or hint of zinc oxide reduces some of the redder spots on my sensitive skin, so I am able to use this alone as foundation. Makes it easy to reapply every two hours to continue the sun protection. It’s important to remember that no sunscreen product lasts all day—always follow the directions and reapply to keep sun protection active. I really like the safety rating this cream received from EWG—this is rare for sun protection products. It’s not perfect, but since I have to moisturize and use sunscreen, this product gives me all that without added worry about health and safety concerns. I live in the Pacific Northwest and we haven’t had many full-sun days since I started using it, but so far the sunscreen factor seems to be working. Because this product glides on so easily I am able to avoid areas of missed coverage. I will update this review when I’ve tested it in the summer, but I expect that I’ll need a full sunscreen if I’m spending all day outside. Reading other reviews, I’m concerned to see that people use this as both day and nighttime moisturizer. Zinc oxide is one of the safer sunscreen options, but give your skin and overall health a break by using this only during the day (even on cloudy days). Wash your face in the evening and apply a non-zinc moisturizer overnight. I think Vanicream makes one if you like the way this product feels.

I use this daily. You do need to make sure that, with daily use, you have a second moisturizer for nighttime. It does dry your skin out with long-term use. However, given how sensitive my skin is to most sunscreens, I'll take it.

This works as people described its efficacy. It glides on the face and keeps the face protected. I love it so much. I bought 4 packs. But it's too expensive.

A bit greasy for sure especially under make up, but my super dry and sensitive skin has no trouble with this. My eczema prone son has no trouble either.

So thick and white good moisturising sunscreen for winter months and cold countries, not suitable for daily wear in our tropical country

Took awhile to arrive as coming from US to UK. No big deal. Really enjoying this cream. Wanted an SPF moisturizer for neck with fewer chemicals. Not much needed, spreads well, absorbs well, not greasy. Very happy 👍 Will buy again.
