FROGG TOGGS Chilly Sport Cooling Neck Wrap & Head Band

Summer baseball tournament approved. This thing is magical and so much better than any other cooling towel I’ve ever used. It was 101 outside, and somehow this towel kept my little cool! The material is super soft and retains water for a long time!

This is like a magic! You can put warm water on it and in a few minutes its cold to the touch. If it gets hot you just move it around and then it gets cold again. I have the blue and pink. As other reviews have mentioned my pink bleeds when I wash/rinse it everytime. It has not gotten on my clothes whole wearing it, bc they do not have to be super wet, but I would not wash with other items.

Great product! Used for Disney trip and for my son’s garden center job during the hot summer days. Easy to wring out to get just the right amount of dampness, many colors to choose from and comfortable to wear.

As long as I kept it wet, the cooling towel worked well, but it became rigid as it dried. This made it less convenient to use, because I would have to saturate it with water just to be able to fold it. It also seemed as though, once dry, it took A LOT of water to make the towel usable again, but that is just an impression; I don't have cubic water-volume measurements to back up my opinion. But I think it's worth mentioning because having to use more water on the product will reduce its value for the money.

I first ordered something else before a friend recommended this one. Wow wow wow!! Night an day! I absolutely love this. I walk/hike 4-5 miles a day on the sun in Southern California hot and with this, it's no problem. There are a few tricks to happy use though: 1) Before first use: be sure to use mild detergent (I used my soap) and cool water to completely thoroughly wash this. It will let a lot of color out. 2) When you went it for use on longer endurance trips, be sure to not squeeze it out. I made the mistake the first time and squeezed it out as much as possible. That way it definitely won't get you wet, but it will start drying out (on the sun) within 30 minutes and in 1 hour it will be bone dry 3) When I say "bone dry" I mean it. The material gets extremely "hard dry" where I feel like it will break (it doesn't) if I bend it. Very interesting material 4) The instructions recommend you keep the towel in the little container it came in. I think that's impossible to do with reasonable human skills, so I use a sandwich ziploc bag, which is perfect. 5) Instead of keeping it moist between use, I keep it dry. This prevents anything nasty from growing on it if it can--not sure because of the unusual material 6) When properly wet, the material has an almost gummy feel to it. I am on a hunt now for the same thing as a head band--if such exists--and wrist bands. This is probably the best thing that could have happened to endurance sports in hot climate! Edit: I have had this now for nearly a year. I kept it in a zipped up plastic bag in my fanny pack and completely forgot about it until today, when the first really hot day hit. I took it out of the bag, it was still wet from my last use nearly a year ago, but I added a bit more water from my bottle and off I went hiking in the heat. If there was a chance to give more than 5 stars, I would! The product is indestructible, comfortable, and stays freezing cold for at least 1.5 hours on the blazing Southern California sun. Fantastic!

So it does what it supposed to, it stays cool for about an hour. But what I was not aware of with that it will adhere and glue itself to many surfaces as it dries. So while drying, I tossed it over the back of a chair, slightly damp. The thing dried and stuck itself to the back of the chair. I remoistened it but when I pried it off, it ripped giant chunks out of the towel, luckily it didn’t damage the chair but be aware that it does this. So the next time we tried putting it over a hanger and having a dry that way, what do you know, it affixed itself to the hanger and again ripped chunks out.

Even ember loves my cooling neck wrap after a tough lesson in the heat. I actually can not say enough about this product it you ride you need one.

These things are amazing! I mostly bought these for my husband. The main reason he dislikes going to parks or outdoor outings is because he gets too hot, and I wanted to find something to make him less miserable. I read about these on a blog, and I hoped they'd help. I bought them in anticipation of a theme park trip, and we tried them out at the zoo ahead of time. Now, my husband is a skeptic, and he was shaking his head at me, asking how these could possibly work - until he put it on. He spent the whole day feeling it and asking me, 'but how do they DO that?' Now, whenever we're going on an outing, he's the one double-checking that we packed them. Honestly? They're amazing. They really are cold - not just wet, cold, like putting your hand in a cooler. They stay cool for a few hours, and when the pattern starts to fade it's time to get them wet again. If they aren't cool enough, just take it off and snap it in the air a couple of times, then put it back on. I was worried they'd soak our clothes, but they don't, as long as you wring them out gently - not too much or they dry out quickly, just enough to keep them from dripping. These ones we got for the kids, and we bought some regular Frogg Toggs for ourselves, but we are kind of envying the thinner design and the slit in these because they stay on better and don't dry out any faster. They're only about half the size and don't come in as many colors, though.

I wore this in the Sahara for a Marathon Des Sables event where temps reached 48C - this product is essential!
