Cheap but perfectly usable replacement for onboard sound.
my onboard sound broke on my PC's motherboard, so i bought this thinking it would do a semi reasonable job as a replacement, but i was actually shocked to find it was actually pretty damn good, and did everything my onboard could do, speakers/headset etc.plug it in and use it, no fancy drivers needed or anything like that, not a bad price, and it saved me having to buy a brand new board.

Works great with Linux - but no switching between output ports
Plug and play with Linux (except for the next/prev/play/pause buttons - but this is probably just a few software tweaks If I could be bothered). Sound quality is good. Unlike another reviewer, I hear a clear difference between 2 equalizer settings (although I can do it in software, switching between music and video conferencing, the button is convenient). OTOH according to the manual there are 4 settings? It would have been nice to be able to switch between the 3-pole headphone and 4-pole headset outputs from software or via a hardware switch - but these appear to be wired together rather than separate output devices. The USB ports are convenient.

Very good for the price!
The PHOINIKAS External Sound Card was reduced to £19 so I purchased one to use on my HAM radio PC. For the money the unit is very good. Simple plug-n-play, no drivers needed. Works great on Kubuntu/Ubuntu/Debian Linux computers too.The only thing you’ll find is the audio distorts when the volume is turned up above 3/4, especially when headphones are used. Keep the volume to sensible levels and it works just fine. For £19 you really can’t complain.

This is awesome
Just buy it, for this price you have a USB soundcard that also splits the sound and also has 3 extra USB ports. Invaluable. It works like a treat, materials are incredible and the volume control and mute are the greatest charms. The only con is the equalizer, you'll never know which one is which and which one is on. find the natural one and never touch it again. The rest is glory.

Good for low-end & older laptops
I bought this one hoping that it will be better than built-in sound card in my HP Elitebook 850 G3 which has built-in Conexant ISST. I tested sound quality with my earbuds, going from laptop jack to Phoinikas jack and did that many many times. Sound from Phoinikas is a bit better, clearer, but quieter than laptops built-in sound card, even when i turn it max. I guess this product will add more value to someone with very old or low-end laptop. I will test it more when my speakers arrive. I guess it wasn't big waste of money since it is cheap. But if I knew that sound quality difference will be this small I wouldn't buy it. It's just not that significant.

Worth it.
Bought this as my PC’s internal sound card was noisy on the headphone output at the front. (Probably wiring issue). For the price it’s brilliant. Headphones have little to no noise and can take headsets as well the USB’s allow for external mic’s and the volume control is very handy. The EQ and other buttons are a bit gimmicky, but the unit itself works really well.

Excellent value all round.
This item is an extremely easy card to insert on the PC and it works immediately, the sound quality can be adjusted and is also excellent. The features of this sound card are all that is needed to set up All Around Sound. It is a sturdy piece of equipment and is really worth the money. I can strongly recommend this sound card. 100/100.
