Don't get caught with your voltage down! Solid state reliability with no moving parts for quality you can count on. Autoformer provides protection from low voltage damage by boosting the park voltage to your RV! "Sense circuit" automatically turns the 10% boost on when the park power is less than 117 volts and turns it off when the park power reaches 118 volts. Built in grounding continuity test offers protection against damage from open ground, open neutral or reverse polarity - if the light isn't on, do not use the power source! Installs into your RV electrical system (with the optional installation kit 55-3893) or plugs into the park's power pole. 50 Amp Autoformer. Three year limited warranty. 1 per box.

Best investment for the RV!
The wife and I have been RV'ing for 12 years now. Working out of town and away from home, it beats Hotel rooms! We plugged into a park in Long Beach CA and started having trouble with the front A/C on our coach......it would kick off (along with our TV). We called a service professional to give it a look and he recommended one of these (I had never heard of it before and thought he was full full of "it"). After doing some research on the net we decided to get one. It came with a digital voltage meter (plugs into the wall) and a locking cable, which was a nice surprise. I plugged in the voltage meter and it read 106V.....and the A/C would kick on and off within seconds, getting hot and tripping the breaker in the fuse box. I plugged this unit in and plugged the coach into it and the voltage meter read 116V.....the A/C came on and sounded strong, blows cold, no more issues. SAVE YOUR APPLIANCES.....I couldn't believe the difference.

Pay some now or a lot more later.
This's a bacon saver. After having low voltage issues at the rv park we were staying in (& loved) I finally dug deep & bought the autoformer. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. Several rv's a/c's near me were mysteriously "konking" out. I had a progressive industries hard wired surge protector that kept shutting our power off @104v due to low voltage. This was confirmed by the digital meter and error code it kept showing. The Texas summer heat was taxing the park's grid to the max; especially on Sunday when most workers (me too) were off and cranking their a/c's as well as everything else. Power management only goes so far. Increasing the voltage was the only viable solution. After installing the Hughes AF:I measured a 7 volt net increase when both a/c's were on. It actually boosts it 10 v but the rv's full power consumption lowers the net boost down about 3v. Although I have an 30 amp travel trailer I bought the 50amp model. My 2 nd a/c runs off a separate 110v circuit since a 30 amp service is insufficient to power 2 a/c's.I put a 50amp male to dual 30amp female adapter on the boosted output of the AF then adapted one leg down to 20amp conventional plug to run 2nd a/c. The tt is on the other 30 amp pigtail. Both circuits get voltage boost & protection this way and I can use it on a 50 amp 5er when I upgrade the travel trailer (tt). I recommend getting a hi-quality surge protector like mine that shuts down power due to low/high voltage in conjunction with the Hughes AF. It's a lot of $$ but not compared to replacing appliances one after the other not to mention living in a hotel while repairs are being made. For security reasons I use a cable lock wound tightly around pedestal then thru the handle.Next time I'm home I'll relocate it inside and hardwire it to keep it safe and dry. I've heard some parks frown on using the AF due to ignorance, another reason to keep it outta sight. Besides, it's one less thing the landscapers have to avoid (& tear up).

It worked great until now
I bought this in December from Amazon. It's already malfunctioning and shutting down power to my fifth wheel. I looked up the warranty and the purchaser must pay shipping to return it and once it's inspected and they deem it a manufacturers fault they will then repair or replace BUT purchaser must pay return shipping in advance. This thing is insanely heavy and shipping to and from is going to be expensive. I paid over $500 for a product I expected to work for more than just 6 months. It worked great until now. Very disappointed.

Excellent product. Park has issues in the summer with voltage dropping below 105 on each leg which would trip my surge protector. Have yet to see voltage below 112 since installing. Expect it will help the AC devices from an early death due to poor voltage. An added bonus is the surge protection. I was already covered by my other device but now I get double protection.

Highly recommended
After my wife and I encountered a State Park with only 104 Volts coming out the pedestal, I talked her into letting me get one of these things for protection and reliability, along with a Progressive Industries PT50C and a DROK Plugin Voltmeter/Nightlight I can monitor everything from the pedestal to the outlet in the RV. On the PT50C it shows L-1 125V and L-2 125V with no load, with everything running it drops to about 123V, which the DROK confirms on the inside of our camper and at the park with a full load on the system it stays at 121V. I have this beast up on blocks and chained to the axle of the trailer underneath to keep "honest people honest" and to keep it out of any water, the voltmeter/nightlight is right inside the front door when I open it for easy reading. I noticed our AC units run much more efficiently with this device plugged in. And to my wife's joy, the breaker did not trip while she operated all her female hair manipulation devices! :-)

Works Great!
The unit is doing a great job of maintaining voltage to my RV as power levels vary widely throughout the day. I've seen voltage at the power pole as low as 84v but usually varies from 115 - 90 volts. The Hughes Autoformer will compensate and maintain output between 100 and 125 volts. As advertised the Autoformer reverts to "pass through" below 90 and 115 volts. My AC units rarely if ever labor under low voltage conditions.

Everyone that owns an RV should have one pronto.
We bought this autoformer to attach to our RV and protect us from the low power that sometimes the RV sites have. So far its working great. It's very heavy so I'm glad for free shipping with amazon prime and we did buy a lock for it as its sitting outside and after paying so much we want to protect it.I think its definitely worth the money when you consider how much it would cost for us to repair all the wiring in the RV and all the appliances should the power brown out and that's if it didn't somehow start a fire. My husband the electrician insisted we get one and I love the peace of mind it gives us.If you think you can't afford it it, then you need it more than most as what would you do if all your electrical wires went tomorrow? Everyone seems to know to have surge protectors on their RVs but its rare I find people know about autoformers. Why is that? Everyone that owns an RV should have one pronto brown outs are too common at the RV parks to risk it.
