Working out of town and away from home, it beats Hotel rooms! We plugged into a park in Long Beach CA and started having trouble with the front A/C on our coach......it would kick off (along with our TV). We called a service professional to give it a look and he recommended one of these (I had never heard of it before and thought he was full full of "it"). After doing some research on the net we decided to get one. It came with a digital voltage meter (plugs into the wall) and a locking cable, which was a nice surprise. I plugged in the voltage meter and it read 106V.....and the A/C would kick on and off within seconds, getting hot and tripping the breaker in the fuse box. I plugged this unit in and plugged the coach into it and the voltage meter read 116V.....the A/C came on and sounded strong, blows cold, no more issues. SAVE YOUR APPLIANCES.....I couldn't believe the difference. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pay some now or a lot more later. *by B***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2014* This's a bacon saver. After having low voltage issues at the rv park we were staying in (& loved) I finally dug deep & bought the autoformer. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. Several rv's a/c's near me were mysteriously "konking" out. I had a progressive industries hard wired surge protector that kept shutting our power off @104v due to low voltage. This was confirmed by the digital meter and error code it kept showing. The Texas summer heat was taxing the park's grid to the max; especially on Sunday when most workers (me too) were off and cranking their a/c's as well as everything else. Power management only goes so far. Increasing the voltage was the only viable solution.After installing the Hughes AF:I measured a 7 volt net increase when both a/c's were on. It actually boosts it 10 v but the rv's full power consumption lowers the net boost down about 3v. Although I have an 30 amp travel trailer I bought the 50amp model. My 2 nd a/c runs off a separate 110v circuit since a 30 amp service is insufficient to power 2 a/c's.I put a 50amp male to dual 30amp female adapter on the boosted output of the AF then adapted one leg down to 20amp conventional plug to run 2nd a/c. The tt is on the other 30 amp pigtail. Both circuits get voltage boost & protection this way and I can use it on a 50 amp 5er when I upgrade the travel trailer (tt). I recommend getting a hi-quality surge protector like mine that shuts down power due to low/high voltage in conjunction with the Hughes AF. It's a lot of $$ but not compared to replacing appliances one after the other not to mention living in a hotel while repairs are being made.For security reasons I use a cable lock wound tightly around pedestal then thru the handle.Next time I'm home I'll relocate it inside and hardwire it to keep it safe and dry. I've heard some parks frown on using the AF due to ignorance, another reason to keep it outta sight. Besides, it's one less thing the landscapers have to avoid (& tear up). ### ⭐ It worked great until now *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2017* I bought this in December from Amazon. It's already malfunctioning and shutting down power to my fifth wheel. I looked up the warranty and the purchaser must pay shipping to return it and once it's inspected and they deem it a manufacturers fault they will then repair or replace BUT purchaser must pay return shipping in advance. This thing is insanely heavy and shipping to and from is going to be expensive. I paid over $500 for a product I expected to work for more than just 6 months. It worked great until now.
